What can you guys tell me about Japanese motorcycle couriers? Things like salary, is it as hard core/dangerous as it is in western countries, the most widely used bike etc. Id try /n/ but its catatonic right now.

... do you actually know how to get on a motorcycle?

OP, being a moto courier anywhere is fairly hard core/dangerous, regardless of what country you are in. Do you already ride? If so you already know that there are assclowns in cars who will probably not see you and pull bonheaded shit. Your exposure to these people is always higher when you're being a courier, simply because you're out there way more.

As far as motorcycles go, I'd expect in Japan you're looking at smaller engined bikes like 125 and 250cc puttering around (not supersports by any stretch) because they get the best fuel economy.

Salary, I have no fucking idea.

/CBR600RRfag here.

No one does that shit here so I wouldn't know. ಠ_ಠ

I dick around on an XR650R on suburban streets so I have absolutely no experience in an urban setting what so ever. I was just thinking itd be a cool little adventure to go on when I get out of college. That gives me about five years to gain a firm grasp on the language and get a little more confident on a bike. What year is your CBR?

well anywhere? imo it really depends in which country you are. In the Netherlands, we don't have huge holes in the road, unlike America (Boston area) and we drive differently. We drive manual/stick in cars, and in order to get a drivers license (car and motorcycle) we have to pass for two exams.

When I drove with a car in America, the road was hell bumpy (huge holes), people just fuck the rules and it was more like first come first get when it came to driving. Also, the speedlimit was like 65miles an hour?

If you are in France for instance, they will just fuck you up. In Germany some roads don't have speed limits (lol @ porsche coming through @ 220km/h) But when it comes to Japan, they are more civilized when it comes to driving. Also, it's the country of compact cars. They prefer tiny cars, unlike America, where they drive huge dodge rams.

and yes, I know how to get on a motorcycle, but it really looked cramped to me, not to mention that a motorcycle can be heavy along with that load in that box.

plus you get motorcycle experience
