anyone knows a producer that produces ambient vocaloid music? with the wide range of vocaloids and how customizable they are i feel like it such a waste to not take advantage of them for ambient music. pulot is a really good one but they're inactive since 2015, and they only have ever produced two albums in total, only one of them uses vocaloid and while im fine with listening to two albums over and over, i would like to listen to something new.
I have checked vocadb but some of the well known producers that produces ambient music are either inactive or changed their direction to another genre of music.

I'm glad IA is doing alright with a few thousand views here and there, even if I can't follow her anymore. All this Cevio and AI stuff has been a huge turn-off because the characters usually end up not sounding like themselves. The one I liked was the Vocaloid IA. Sadly, more and more are going in this direction(Kiritan, Yukari, etc.), with the exception of Miku, who more or less seems to be succeeding with her recreation at least.

What changed the voice is not the automatic AI tuning, it's simply how hard it is for one engine to emulate another when it's all giant closed source applications.

And Miku will go AI eventually I'm sure. Since Piapro for NT already supports direct pitch editing (and other phonemes parameters like note gain and attack speed), they only need to train a neural network to draw one for you based on the lyrics and composition. If they can nail Miku's voice in the engine, then they can aim for the best of both worlds.

For voice synth flexibility > everything. Miku can play any role from a modern IBM 7094 to a sentimental ballad singer, to a metal singer. There are more miku producers than any other voice synth and we still get new Miku tunings because her voicebanks allows so much diversity. Pitch and timbre is something that you get used to (and possibly even love it's imperfections), what's important for a singer with 100.000+ songs is to not sound samey and therefore boring.

It's genuinely surprising how high you can turn up the gender before they start sounding weird.
They can belt out super high notes and absolutely destroy a super powerful song, they can gently and gracefully sing a soft lullaby, and they'll still be amazing.

Renri (synth v 1) can do this too, although it's harder to get her to sound nice with more powerful songs (it's definitely possible https://youtu.be/N9wfF_zNnDw)) and the gender parameter in synth v 1 is.... Sure something. Maybe when she releases for synth v 2 that'll be fixed?

I'm sure there are more flexible synths than Miku (if you put Rin and Len together they should surpass Miku as well in use cases, and probably why they are still going strong compared to Luka for example), and that's definitely what I'd target as well if I wanted a voicebank (more than a one trick pony). I hope CeVIO AI Kiritan will handle this aspect better.
