For the most part I did not find posting here productive. And I really wish people didnt sit dissecting my posts and passing so much unrelated judgement.

Wani Kani is clear about their program. The fastest anyone has completed all 60 Levels is a little over a year. I figured two years would be a reasonable pace, but its not. I told them how I complete each Level in 8 days and they said I was on the high end of the spectrum because the fastest is 7 days and the average is something like 12 days. I also felt studying sentence structure is useless without a firm grasp of hiragana, katakana, Kanji and at least N3 vocabulary. That is why I started with Wanikani for a year before coming here.

I don’t have time to sift through all these unnecessary opinions. Language studies is only one of my academic pursuits. I don’t want to be notified anymore and I’m tired of hearing how I bruised someone’s ego by simply being honest about who I am, what are my goals and what I have accomplished thus far. There’s way too much miscommunication and drama.

I just want to know if doing a Lesson a day…5 Lessons a week is a reasonble pace and how far along I would get if I did this. No one seems to have any answers. Just whining.

How do you learn to speak and write your own thoughts?

I lived in Japan, I mined vocab grammar and kanji, I can read most web articles without reaching for a dictionary, I can understand most speech unless it's very collegiate or very informal. But I don't know how to hold a conversation beyond touristy phrases
