Okay, originally I was warm towards this game when I learned it was written by the guy who did Tsuyokiss, which was a great game...but NOT for it's humour, which wasn't all that bad really but it wasn't the highlight of what the game offered. Really deliscious drama, a yandere, and some best-in-class character archtypes.

But this game....you guys are making it sound painfully generic. Does it have a yandere?

I was pretty disappointed at this.
Mind me, it's good as a normal comedy, but I usually play VN for the romance part, especially considering the writer's past works, romance is what I was expecting.
But the story's focus is more on the single characters' devevolpment, not their relationship with the mc.
This would most likely make an awesome anime, most of route's events can all happen together, but not really a good love story.

See, and this what makes it sound like fail. Consider the first Muv-Luv....it was "okay" in a generic sort of schoolyard comedy way, but it would have been utterly forgettable if it didn't move on to the sci-fi parts. Tsuyokiss was mostly generic schoolyard comedy, but the reward for sitting through it were great: you got to engage in memorable romances with some really, really good characters, including a best-in-class yandere which even to this day (Yoppi) is well-known and often posted on /jp.

I wanted to like this considering the creative talent behind it, but if it's just a commercial. generic laugh-track ready for an anime adaption I won't bother with it.

I won't go over the no-voice argument, because I'm tired of that bullshit, but in the midst of all those wonderful characters he really felt blank, like he had no character at all.
Sure sometime he'd get his moments, acting like the "great strategist", showing off how superior he is, messing around with the crabs, but they felt forced to me and still didn't manage to make him look alive.

He was a bit better than Leo.
What he lacked was a great male sidekick to really bring out his character.
In Tsuyokiss, the interactions between the Leo, Subaru, Fukahire and Kani were awesome and full of chemistry between every members.

In Majikoi, Cap, Moro and Gakuto aren't that great nor are they funny, the only ones who really bring out the laughs are Miyako, Wanko and Mayucchi.

Gen should have been part of the group, great male character right there.

Everyone complaining about Chris/romance don't worry, Chris route is all about romance and falling in love with a 2d character.

And finally, I'm turned off by the 'sameness" of the girls. I don't know if it's the way their faces are drawn, the eyes, or what have you, but they have an indenti-kit feel to them. The more I learn about this game, the more convinced I am it's commercial shit for the mainstream "otaku". Tsuyokiss wasn't commercialized shit; it was witty, and sometimes piognant, sometimes dark -- the gils were very attractive both in form and personality...indeed few games I can recall had so many heroines I found attractive enough to do their routes. And what do the Japanese fans say? There's no way they like this more than Tsuyokiss.

How are the girls "sameness"?? The only thing Tsuyokiss beats out on this is Yoppei the yandere, Nagomin the tsundere supreme, and Leo Family's superior male support. Majikoi overall surpasses Tsuyokiss quite a bit, fans and nonfans of Takahiro agree, erogamescape agrees.
