Today's episode confirms that the wooden-clock calendar seen through-out Watadamashi is on a windowsill in the Irie clinic, Rika is pretty much shown looking at it when she goes back to the clinic by herself to get Satoko's test results. It's on the right hand side of the bottom most part of pic related, just outside of our view. The frosted glass on the window behind the calendar matches as does the window frames.

The calendar is Irie's but the connection leads to Satoko. Because Satoko is the one who sees the calendar everytime she visits the clinic. That's why the first day the wooden calendar shows in Watadamashi is 12th. Because it's the day Satoko arrived in the fragment. Just like Rika's calendar pointed to us that it was 10th on the day she had arrived in the arc before.

Watanagashi always takes place on the 3rd Sunday of June so the possible dates for Watanagashi are from the 15th to the 21st of June. I believe that these dates play a part in the puzzle as the 15th is when Akane's fragment takes place, and the 21st is when Kimiyoshi's fragment takes place, but there's still much to be desired from this theory.

Even though it's stated most of the GKs have parallel personalities, if Miyao is anything to go by, one personality is more combat/soldierly oriented and the other is a chiller, casual type. We're not going to see this side to most of the characters, i believe, so we will never know for sure.

1. Satoko is afraid of growing up and change. She misses Mion and they way she ran things (See: Keiichi's new club rules)
2. She is unhappy with Rika's descision regarding St. Lucia's as this will further separate her from her childhood
3. She will ultimately fail to get into St. Lucia's whereas Rika will get in. This will separate the two
4. This separation will cause Satoko to experience a great depression and may even begin to feel some anger towards Rika who she see's as betraying her
5. "Hanyuu" will make a return and offer Satoko a way of returning to better days (by killing Rika and herself, resetting the cycle)
6. Thus Satoko can now live in her happy world "forever", as long as Rika's death and her own occur.
This is more-or-less how I think things are going down. Rika will need to either convince Satoko to move on, or accept living in this cycle over and over again.

I feel like Umineko would be better if the order was episode 1 then Ange's past then episode 2, or the introductory half of episode 1 then Ange's past then the mystery half, or something like that. Ange would still only join the board game after episode 3 of course. My suggestion would be for her to be introduced and investigate on the future side of things earlier. Ange's subplot throws a wrench on the board game, and episode 4 already has the Maria subplot, which does that too. The number of chapters before anyone is murdered in episode 4 is almost the same as all of episode 1. It's kinda odd.

But maybe there are scenes where we get tricked into thinking it's looper Rika when it's actually OG Rika interacting with looper Satoko who arrives several days earlier. This could be why this story needeed to be an anime and not a VN. We get tricked by Rika's presence and assume it's the looper, because we don't get to see her thoughts.

Of course, this episode is all about the Matsuribayashi world, so it's always looper Rika. But maybe some of the previous arcs in Gou have played with us using that trick.

I like this idea but I think the arrivals of the loopers in the three first arcs are hinted clearly enough.
Especially in Tatarigoroshi. The only arc that is vague would be Watadamashi because it starts on 12th and you can see both loopers influencing Mion. I think Rika arrived on 10th though, otherwise she would have to start noticing that something is wrong and comment on it.
I don't think it would change much in this arc anyways.

EP8 and Matsuribayashi are about solving the series' main conflict and are grand all-out conflicts between the main cast and the main antagonist. EP9 and Saikoroshi are a lot more personal and smaller in scale, serving as development and closure for a certain character, even if one seems more significant than the other.

Predicting it or not didn't change the fact that they felt it was a betrayal and people were arguing about it ruining Minagoroshi in retrospective and trying to pretend Gou wasn't canon so that their precious Satoko wouldn't actually be evil, and you had people arguing all the time that it's fucking obvious that she's not the true culprit and that Hanyuu/Lambda are pulling the strings, over and over and over.

Whatever your opinion of people arguing about it was is irrelevant to the fact that saying it's just a handful of people talking about Gou is disingenous, more importantly misses the main point of the series being the only good source of discussion we've had since Ciconia came out, and I guess EP9 but people seem to have forgotten about that one after a short while, disregarding a certain someone using it as an avatar of sorts.
