I don't follow or like NiziU but why not make an Majors/other idols general instead? Just put NiziU, =Love and ≠ME, Last Idol, Wasuta, Perfume, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, 26時のマスカレイド, Super Girls, 東京女子流, Girls² and all these other idols that don't belong in any other general.

Or do you guys think NiziU is popular enough here to need a general all for themselves? Do the NiziU public here like other japanese idols or are they more into Kpop?

I can't think of anything better. You can just call it 'Major Idols General' too and clarify it's any idol group signed with a major label and not part of the franchises who already have generals(AKBg, Sakamichi, H!P, Stardust).
It would help if /alt/ was called the indie/chika idols general instead of whatever the definition of /alt/ means nowadays but don't worry about that for now.
