How does that happen?

How does the staining occur? When the resin body is in contact with the material the dyes leech out of the material and stain the body. And this happens very frequently, ask any long term dollfie owner. Once the body has been stained it's damn near impossible to get the stain out of the resin body.

For the LE DD's the bodies less of a concern as you can buy a new body from Volks but it's the head that you really need to make sure is protected well as that's where most of the dolls value is held and you won't be able to purchase a replacement from Volks. A lot of owners will create a cap made from plastic (pic related) or buy a skull cap like on this page:

to stop head staining.

DD's have a vinyl body and are even more so prone to staining and it's even harder to remove as it sinks deep into the vinyl.

Don't forget to clear coat it with Mr. Super Clear.

Yeah, you may also want UV protection as it causes the skin to turn yellow. I've never taken my doll outside and the sun doesn't even shine through my windows so I've never had that problem.

Then you'll be fine with the flat if you don't plan on taking her outside. Mr. Super Clear doesn't give you total protection it'll wear done with time.

To further prevent staining wash the clothing and test if the dye bleeds. If it bleeds keep washing it until it doesn't. I'm not sure if it really works, but I'm told washing it with vinegar can help.

So I have an issue. I just got 2 Azone Flection bodies. However the feet come off and this is a real problem. I have some Azone booties but if I put the feet on they are liable to get wedged at the bootom of the boots and difficult to extract. I have not idea why they made the feet removable like that. The only thing I can think of doing is perhaps tucking the feet into some socks but on some outfits it's a bit awkward (Like leggings the socks would have to be underneath them). Or just pushing the stumps into the booties is another ooption but then they don't see right.

Wow, lame, Volks USA is out of flat Mr. Super Clear. And they're out of DD head caps. At least they have decent-looking outfits (most of which are for L-Bust. Come on! ; ;)

Are there any good recommendations for stores other than Volks USA to get things?

Or, perhaps, I could find something at a local Hobby store that would work just as well as Mr. Super Clear?

Egads. The first opportunity I have to get white vinegar, and Airi's feet already has stain marks where the shoes fit snugly. Isopropyl alcohol has no effect, guess I'll go straight to Benzoyl Peroxide cream.

Fortunately, the top of her one-piece dress is lined in white and she wears a petticoat/slip type thing under the skirt... and the wig hasn't stained (yet), but I wrapped her head in plastic wrap. Guess I'll just leave it off for now, until I can get a hold of one of those caps. At least it's just the feet; if the stains bother me too badly, I can just get new ones...
