You AKB faggots do realize that it's only been this year that AKB has been surpassing MM sales right? MM got their first 1 mil sales within a year, AKB's been up for a little over 3 years, with 600k to their name at this time though the recession probably isn't helping with sales. Also MM sales have been pretty steady since 2004, with 2 exceptions, Iroppoi Jirettai, with the higher sales, and Mikan with the low sales.
You AKB anons have only been trolling within this year, you at least had some sensibility when the sales were low as fuck. But ever since the year of the scandals and these higher AKB sales have you been trolling like a plague of shit. Sure there were other poor souls with a idol superiority complex that came along and shat on MM like they were the ones with sanity, but there were some that had some amount of respect.
What do you expect from sales like these? Tsuji/Kaori getting married, an annoying Aibon scandal, all that right after Yossy grad and Miki scandal. It's not hard to see how you faggots have such a superiority complex

You do realize that this was their first year that they expanded their scope outside the Tokyo area? They didn't spin off a theater in Nagoya and started broadcasting their programs nationwide until last October. Aren't you seeing a common pattern in all of this?

You guys tend to cling onto the "apples and oranges" mentality every time you have to write off this or that achievement and you are right about it in a way, but not in the one you would guess: the fact is that one is a theater-based idol group, while the other is a singles-based idol group.
This means that since its inception AKB's singles have never represented the bulk of the income and indeed they served as just a little more than a crowd puller over the years. Even after their latest break theater performances still serve as their mayor money spinner.
It's no wonder that even back in January 2008, when the sales weren't anything stellar, they could afford PVs and programs qualitatively superior to that of H!P.
And it's no wonder that when faced with the opportunity to increase his business he went with spinning off two new groups and upgrading to a larger teather rather than giving birth to a lot of low-selling sub-units like H!P did.

Morning Musume, on the other hand? As a group that relies solely on single sales and the occasional concert, as soon as they realized the mother lode was running dry they started cutting budgets across the board.
