SWR installs properly in vista, and installed properly in my chinese system locale, simplified chinese username desktop.

It can't be a problem, unless OP has an out of this (microsoft) world username or used the forbidden characters in his screenshot. I believe with all my heart that he is not intellectually challenged to not notice that, so I'm betting on the username issue.

3. You tried extracting them onto C:\New Folder

Beware of filesystem corruption. Run a chkdsk to make sure, because a lot worse things could happen if it goes unnoticed.
