Protip to anyone shooting in rain, snow, or otherwise unpleasant conditions in which you will spend a portion of the time on the ground: carry a fucking shower liner in your bag. Cheaper than a tarp, folds up small, keeps you dry and your clothes clean while you set up shots. It sounds stupid or excessive but I'm never going without one again. Waterproof clothing can help, of course, but it's nice to not have to worry about mud.

Does anyone have any doll goals for this year? I'm actually going to try and get less dolls this time around and focus on the ones I have more. I'll still get something if something crazy happens, but I want to do more with the ones I already have this time around.

I've bought one prebuilt and built two F3s and outside of building the two, I've never had to deal with the joints after and it's been over 2 years.

The problem is when they come in and the hip joint isn't on right, which has been my experience with most of them. I feel like I have never truly gotten one to 'click' into place -- every time I think I finally got it, it eventually works its way loose again, often when I'm out in the middle of taking photos. It makes me feel like a lunatic that it will be just fine for weeks and then there it goes, unable to even hold a pose because it's loose again. I've seen people pose them in amazing ways when they are put together right, but my experience has been far from that.

I think making eyes would be fun! I know you can make them "follow-me" eyes by putting a clear cabochon on top, but what I don't know is what kind of paper to print them on or where to get it, or if you need a special one... I have realized that I don't know shit about printing. Future things to learn!

I'd like to take more photos with them this year, and some of them who have very specific aesthetics (a spooky girl I have only has one outfit, but I'm waiting for a new one to come in the mail) need some new stuff. I'd like to learn to start making them stuff, too, but sewing is intimidating. I have made some jewelry, though! I'll try to get some photos of that, at least -- it's nothing particularly fancy, but it was fun to make.
