Yeah, she's one of my secondaries and I don't disagree that she's been nerfed a little, but nowhere NEAR as much as some like Iku and Tenshi, maybe even Aya. Her new skillcards are a little lacking though.
And you weren't the only one getting lagged so don't worry about that; it and one bad airtech (possibly caused by it) cost me that WHOLE match when I used Marisa that last time.
tl;dr Marisa's one of the least nerfed, tell your friend to shut the fuck up or go play a good character, like Cirno.

Still, I'm quite impressed on the very first game 'cause of your pro-esque moves.. but Yukari is not for close-up. You just have to wait your opponent to come to you, long-range shots, and use good spells such as Boundary (the yellow thing around the screen) and Ran. Also, tone down your 623b. I always see that comin'.

GGs Mistifel. You need more work on your basics. Dial-A is perfectly fine for Suika, but not so much for Marisa. Most of all though you need to work on your offensive pressure. Still, you've helped me realize something beautiful: Suika's command grab works DURING Youmu's slash SCs where she disappears. Obviously it's more of a bug than anything but the game seems to recognize using that thing as moving forward, and our oni loli catches it.

More accurately though, I'm sure you could take down MY Aya with melee because I just started using her and I'm having fun with how shitfast she is. But I suspect melee would be a good tactic anyway, as well as lightnings and such in-between dashes if you can time it well enough. If it gives you a message with choices, you connected but they're already playing somebody.
If it just tries to connect and pops a message up after a few seconds and you know they're hosting, then the problem's on your end.
Check to see if your ports are forwarded, if your IP changed, etc etc if you know you have 1.02.
If that's not it then that's all I can help with, at least.

Pretty sure that's the "couldn't connect" message.
But if you're trying to spectate somebody, copy their IP and use the 5th option from the top instead because it actually asks if you want to play them or spectate. The one you're using just connects automatically if nobody's playing and only gives you the option to spectate if they're already in a match. That doesn't sound like what you want.

When you pick the first option - which is to host - it will prompt you with a number (default 10800) which is basically asking you which port you'll be hosting from.
Apparently you can use any port, but 10800 HAS to be forwarded to get it to work at all.

if you're talking about the actually getting air, yeah i did notice you tried to do it pretty goofily a couple times

to get up there enough to hide behind the lifebars for whatever, you have to do a super jump with 8a in the middle
flying up doesn't work as well because the helicopter needs momentum from the jump

if you're just talking about the helicopter suika lifestyle, even i'm doing it wrong
the best way is the new alt skill card which makes you fall and then POSE
it doesn't work so well in combat, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for ultimate style
