Take a look at the TH10 omake/readme file. Or I'm sure it's even on the English wiki. Basically Kanako was a war goddess in the past and she beat Suwacko with one finger. That's why the Moriya shrine belongs to her now.

I guess they both prepared for the battle, but while Suwako was busy getting her equipment, Kanako was busy sending out her spies.

She basically gave up. Even if she had fought, her army would still have witnessed Kanako's display of 'power', and I personally think winning by 'peacefully' conquering is far more powerful than having to obliterate the enemy at the cost of your own stamina or, in actual war, at the cost of your economy. Hell, she even converted part of the Hakurei Shrine to her cause after she lost.
That still doesn't tell us how a fight between those two would end.

though it works best when it's just a couple of characters rather then a attempt to do everyone you can fit.

This one is pretty awesome if not rather odd. Who would have thought that fusing Kanako and Youmu would work.
