Posted this in a different thread but it explains my thoughts on Mio, the objectively best holohag, and why I like her more and more as I see her break the idol mold. Thank you for reading my ted talk.

On a surface level I could say "oh it's because she's more 'real'" or whatever and not just a persona.

I think it goes deeper than that for me. Part of it's liking older women.
Another part is her """"personality"""", such as it is acting as an animated qt2.5d wolfgril, seems really down-to-earth and lowkey. You could probably say this extends to her choices of what she does in streams to an extent. For games, I've been seeing her do the rice farming one a lot and non-games I've seen things like tarot reading, ukelele practicing, of course singing, freaking mahjong. It'd probably be fair to say she's lower energy than, say, Coco or Fubuki. Either way, it's a personality that I feel I can connect with.

From things like that my mind conjures up the idea there's shared interests - I used to play a few instruments back before I got busy with things, dabbled with tarot readings myself; an idea that there's commonalities and things that I would be able to talk with her about -- assuming I was fluent in Japanese, which I'm not.

I've seen pics of her roommate and she looks absolutely great imho, another plus, and that's who I'm imagining behind the 2.5d wolfgirl render as I see her talking and streaming. Assuming she really does have kids, I think it only improves my opinion because taking that info and what I already know my first thought was "oh I bet she's a great mother." Is she in real life? I don't know, but taking what I know into account I'm subconsciously envisioning her as a good one.

Also add in the fact I'm in my late-20s. I'll be settling into a career in a few years and the priorities I have today are vastly different from the ones I had even five years ago.
