Oh ho, this is where you're wrong. I was just doing a good job being a ⑨ by not noticing it until so late; it's really easy to just FLY into the iceberg and graze it, completely ruining the effect your katamari would have and possibly putting the opponent right behind you while you're doing it, leaving you open for multiple degrees of rape. Most people probably don't think of that, though, so it works as well as it does.

Not really, it can block bullets so it has SOME use to it. The way I see it, tasofro just ran out of ideas and wanted system cards that they'd have a logical reason to force players to use, and this happened.
It's a REAL shame that the parasol doesn't appear on her sprite. ;_;

You need to work on being a LOT more aggressive; some characters are meant to be played defensively but I guarantee that Meiling is NOT one of them.
I noticed you didn't block much in the corner which is probably because you were trying to use moves and I beat the crap out of you on startup; don't do that. You'll want to groundtech 90% of the time, and the other 10% you won't need until really high-level play when they're expecting you to groundtech.

Watch out for random SCs, whether they're accidents or not they're going to put you into real rape real fast.
Finally, when using Patchy (or anyone, actually) make sure not to launch projectiles when your opponent's in melee range, ESPECIALLY if it's somebody like Suika who can rape your face. Because they will.

Yeah, when you play Sanae her regular projectiles aren't great at forcing corner guard crushes. Maybe you should try using charge 6A (crush low blockers) and charge 3A (crush high blockers) more. Then followup successful crushes with the dial 5A 2A 3A 5C 623B (Kanako) combo.

I dunno. After finding out that Sanae's j.5A (landed at the wrong height) doesn't seem have block advantage really hurt my Sanae play, so I'll have to rethink her strategy completely.

Balance in Soku is actually pretty damn close considering most other fighting games. I can think of a few matchups that are slightly in one char's favor, but nothing as drastic as the kind of shit you'd see in SF4/BB/etc.

The main advantage of her C bullets is that they're delayed, they can come from any angle, and they pin down an opponent who blocks them for ages. Her B bullets do indeed suck, but 6B has its uses and 5B or [B] does 2 full orbs of spirit damage. Her main advantage, though, is her melee. You have two or three times everyone else's melee range. This means Alice is really, really subject to bad matchups. Characters like Patchy that don't need to get past your wall of dolls will rape your face. Remi's speed and ground dash fuck up your spacing. Youmu, who needs to get up in your face, is totally fucked and should eat a doll shotgun every time she tries to approach. Alice still has potential, but if you're gonna get frustrated, find a secondary you can use for the hard matchups.

Still, in Cirno's case there's not a whole lot to do against her; Aya has a shitton of moves that graze so launching a 6C (exploding icechain) is out of the question, and setting up freezetraps won't do shit. I imagine iceballs would have some effect, but unfortunately for me I was using the deck that replaced it with icecharge.

You have done well, my apprentice.
It's all about concentrating deeply enough on the timing in between hits so you can find a break in the pattern, almost unconsciously. Works great once you get the hang of it.

Now THAT was fun! Hope to have more Cirno/Suika mirrors with ya in the near future! Hate to have to get rid of my SUIKA SIT card, but nothing I had planned to use it for worked out in our matches. If I may, when you score a knockdown in the corner, back out one backdash to cover the tech outs. The few times you actually re-combo'd me in the corner were tests, and I started rolling everytime after because I knew you wouldn't cover (except that one time where I stupidly forgot Diamond Dust was on and didn't block). Also, Suwako's Snake SC is better done as a wake-up right next to the opp. I was going to demonstrate, but you'd have better luck teaching a camel to walk on ice than me having Suwako live long enough to gather 5 cards, not to mention a 1/4th chance of getting the card I'm actually looking for...

Ohh yeah, that's another one of my stupid habit problems. Up until just a while ago I had this habit of ALWAYS backdashing after getting someone in the corner so I worked at getting rid of it so I could do corner pressure. Now I can do some SCRUB EATING corner combos, but my habit's become the opposite. ;_;

And I figured that's where you were going with Suwako, normally picking somebody your opponent just used is a "you're doing it wrong, here let me show you something" move. Really though, I just did snakes to see if you'd played as/against her before, because if somebody's never seen the move before they ALWAYS somehow get caught in it. Only once per person, though.
But now that I think about it, it HAS been over a week since this has come out, and that trick really doesn't work anymore. Oh well.

Yeah, me! And I did alot of it during these matches. Usually matches end with a lot of cussing i-frames or my stupid habit of using 6A in jammed situations, but every one of our matches ended with "Damn, that was good!" Well, not that last Suika match. That one ended in a Darth Vader-esque "NONONONONOOOOOOOOOO!" as I got snuffed desperately tapping away at my SC button trying to land Throwing Atlas!

In theory, yeah. But just look at her dash speed -- I think that's what she used to outrun the nerfbat. She was top tier in SWR, then this comes out and while Aya and the other good characters are nerfed hard, she gets - if anything - a BUFF. She has plenty of spacing tools for a certain range, but against RANGE ONLY characters like Patchy she has no problem just rushing up and rendering her useless.
Even Suika, who would otherwise be on even footing, can't do much besides shoot fireworks and hope Youmu tries to melee when it explodes so it may be possible to get one combo in. It's just a balance issue, really.
Not that I'm calling you a bad player or anything, Youmu complaints are just something you'll have to get used to around here.
