Isn't it obvious? Because UFO is a 1p game and Hisoutensoku is 2p. There isn't much to discuss about UFO's gameplay.

That said, Byakuren truly is an awesome stage 6 boss. When those wings (?) open up around her, it gave me the same sense of awe the first time I faced Yuyuko and her fan opened.

I find Touhou 12 to be the most enjoyable Touhou game I have ever played.

I don't get why people say the cast is bad. Awesome story, and nobody except maybe Nue is as weird looking or strange as Utsuho was. Hell, Byakuren is the most normal-looking touhou since Kaguya.

I also find Byakuya's sister to be awesome.

Almost as awesome as Cirno and Alice.

It's interesting because most of the other Touhou games trouble's being caused and Remiu, Marisa and whoever else go stop it.

She's still really popular (like 75% as popular as Remilia, who is probably in the top five) so I don't think ZUN is trying to recreate her or anything.

First time I got stuck on Stage 5 continuing without being able to get past; second time I made it to Stage 6 and continued until I reached the final spellcard and lost. The problem is the fucking crippling power penalty for dying + only 2 bombs per life. Die just once during a boss and it cascades into dying even more as every spellcard takes forever.

If it weren't for that problem of running out of power, I would say this is the easiest Normal final boss yet. Opening nonspell is a joke, unlike past Stage 6 bosses where it's usually tough. 2nd nonspell and spellcard are cake, 3rd spellcard seems gimmicky like Utsuho's 3rd, 4th (Shinki) and 5th spellcards not too tough.

I'm really not liking how many spellcards it's throwing at me on Normal... 6 from the final boss, and 5 from the Stage 4 boss along with 3 nonspells, including another fucking survival card outside of extra. Once again Stage 4 is a huge roadblock after ZUN let up on that theme with SA.

I refuse to even bother with Easy, seeing as it doesn't even unlock anything now + it's so easy that it's just pointless. PCB Easy was the only one that really had a point in playing, it unlocked Extra but was also the toughest Easy of all the Windows games (also IN Easy was necessary to unlock stuff; both spellcards for practice, and clearing once with all the teams without having to play Normal with the teams I suck at)

Easy mode on this is... seriously easy. Maybe even enough so to rival IN. It's probably the overabundance of lives that does it, but shit, I just 1CCed it just before I went to sleep with four different characters, all on my first try.

Normal is about right, though, once you get the hang of collecting UFOs, though the last boss is frankly a walk in the park compared to recent ones. Does her last card remind anyone else of Mountain of Faith/ Virtue of the WInd God?

I spent about four hours on continuing on Stage 6 normal yesterday trying to unlock it for practice. The most annoying thing? *Every* *single* *time* I reached her first card with three lives, I made a stupid mistake and died, then got to her last card with no lives and got hit with a sliver of her health remaining - but every time I hit her first card with two lives, I did it flawlessly and then had the same thing happen on her final card.

Lives are useless in this game. You lose far too much power on death to make building a stock effective; die once or twice and every spellcard is suddenly an endurance spellcard.

If you want the game to be easy, you should be collecting bombs instead.
