Keep the folders as data and lib, and rename the exe to "紅魔城伝説 緋色の交響曲". Run the patch through applocale and select the main folder.

The only thing I can think of I'd call 'fake difficulty' is not being able to turn around in mid-air while you're flying. That bugs me a little, but the rest of it is just part of the game.

Apparently the patch opens fine if you use 7zip to open it instead of winrar.

This is just a thank you to this thread as i had similar problems as OP, thank you to those that responded and there is no such thing as artificial difficulty just how much you suck at a game or how poorly some ai is programmed... that is all ^^
