I actually have one of these and I just bought it for fun (ie can't draw for shit). I got it for about $40 and it works perfectly. However, there are some driver/compatibility issues. Pressure sensitivity doesn't seem to work in openCanvas, but it's fine in Photoshop. Other programs may have problems too, but I haven't tested any.

Probably either his mouse sensitivity is fucked up, or his tablet isn't properly configured. I know if you set the sensitivity too high on a mouse, or set the working space on a tablet too low for the screen, it'll end up like that.

Alright, I took a look at my copy of ZUN teaches drawing.jpg as well and came up with this monstrosity.

Kamikiri is some sort of dickheaded youkai that cuts hair with its claws, presumably for laughs and kicks. It is also supposed to prevent immoral relationships. So if you finally make your move on your ten year old sister, this thing appears out of nowhere and cuts off all her hair. What a dick.

The defining aspect of creature in question was claws and my mental image of it was similar to that of amikiri (a net-cutting creature depicted as something like a beaked lobster). I was looking at the "ZUN teaches drawing" image for guidelines and it told me to add large bug eyes, so I just took it literally and added compound eyes.

That being said, I'm more than pleased with the drawings that followed, so let's just say it's a visor. Not even Wriggle has apparent compound eyes, anyway.
