It's about two scientists (the protag and the "heroine" in the picture) who went on a photo-shoot or something into the forest and some sort of magic barrier (FSN Rider's "Blood Fort" Noble Phantasm maybe?) trapped them by paralysis or something. After the entrapment there are like several options, and many of them are basically the fucking same (for example choose between: "the inability to get past certain posts" or "the existence of our barriers"). So in the end I've had 2 times a choice between 4 possible options and when none of them worked combined, I imagine I was probably making the wrong choices throughout the game and that's why I'm always getting a bad end. I couldn't be arsed to go through the whole game again just to see the good end, the bad end was enough for me where they both die. It might even be better that way.

Okay, yeah. So it looks like all he did was duct-tape a bunch of Barney toys together. Either way, he has an undead Hydra now, which is used to kill said king and his guards.

So our lesser Liche protagonist suddenly remembers a girl he was in love with when he was younger. He gets permission from the big bad liche lord and flies out to find her.

Turns out she's sick and dying. Frederic the predator-liche isn't having none of that shit.

He somehow makes a giant rose monster and hooks her up to it, which feeds off other girls and replaces her diseased blood with theirs. Frederic gets shit done. Of course his love, Rosetta (Ha, get it? Rosetta and she's hooked up to a rose monster?), absolutely hates what he's doing. But fuck her, he's a liche and he'll do what he damn well pleases.

Now he's having dinner with her. He kidnaps the finest chefs and has a dining hall built. However, she never eats anything. She just acts like she's cutting her food.

Frederic has a choice. Should he just ignore her ignoring him, or should he-DAMNIT, I'M A LICHE. DON'T YOU LOOK AWAY FROM ME. DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'VE DONE FOR YOU? EAT YOUR DINNER.

Smirnove (lady in the middle) calls people with the -chan and -kun suffix for no reason at all.

Well, the "intro" backstory wasn't so great, but character customization isn't something you see every day.

She's killed herself, AGAIN. Don't worry Frederic, you're a master of undeath. You can just-oh.

Anyway, it is revealed that the police are in on a conspiracy to revive the most perfect homunculus by releasing seals, achieved by killing alchemists (one of whom is Smirnove). After these revelations, the MC has a chat with Iris thanking her for bringing adventure into his life and Act 1 ends.

Even though the art isn't great, the writing has almost as many mistakes as Edelweiss' translation, and there is borderline plagiarism of Nasu's style; I was pleasantly surprised. It's entertaining enough and Neroid is cool (I can't resist tsunderes). Not sure how I'd rate it. For OELVNs, you could easily find worse ones.

Turns out she wasn't a zombie zombie. She was kind of half-out of it.

Summary of the rest of my first playthrough: Found a previous loyal servant to Frederic. Had him join my side. An underling created a replice of Rosetta, but Frederic absolutely hates her now and almost kills him. Instead he keeps her around but forces her to wear a mask so he won't have to see her face.

More sieges. The second-in-command tries to usurp the throne of the Liche King, but is instantly killed by having his power severed. Frederic is promoted. During the next siege, he finds Rosetta's father who fights him. He informs Frederic that his father really was a traitor and practiced dark arts, which summoned the Liche King. I chose to kill him off Rosetta's father anyways.

Back at Frederic's painkeep, Rosetta's body-double tries to have sex with him because she thinks he's depressed finding out his father really was a douche all along. Three options are presented: Accept, refuse, [x] rebuke. Frederic laughs in her face and she's heart-broken. I am pleased.

The liche king announces that he will rule the continent. I choose the serve him eternally. Sunlight is reduced to eight hours for humans, but all war is now at an end and the lands are at peace. Despite choosing almost all the evil, asshole options, I am rewarded with a Good End.

Necromancy pays.

On a scale of 1-10 fingernails bitten off, I'd actually give it a 2. The art is bad, some of the writing is a bit bland, and I think some events could be rearranged, like making Rosetta's death take place a little bit later. Overall it was actually enjoyable, more than I expected. The mood is oppressive and the music fits nicely. The main character is decent and, for once, being evil is handled in a manner other than "psychotic baby killer". I'd have never guessed that choosing to be the loyal servant of an undead master would lead to a good end.

Well, in all seriousness, it hasn't been a bad read so far. Difficult, difficult read, but that's to be expected of Dostoyevsky - and it hasn't been so much adapted than just transcribed word for word with a few backgrounds and sprites. Still, I'll see this to the end I will. And protagonist is pretty interesting - it's proto-/jp/ at it's best (at least in 19th Russia).
