What's all the writing and numbers everywhere? I know that the date and time is in the bottom left, but I can't figure out what the rest is. The numbers on the TV in the top left seems to go up every time there is a sale, so I'm guessing that's the sales for the month?

Interesting to watch how customers select their bento, some compare two of the same selection, probably judging the freshness or quantity, while some remove the top few of a pile to dig down to a lower meal. Ironic if they are doing it for freshness, as the shop workers aren't that disciplined in rotating their stock and often just put the fresh stuff on top.

When I became aware of the basics of consumer psychology I started changing my shopping behavior in defiance of expectations. No idea if it accomplishes anything other than making me satisfied.

Indeed, if anything, the Japanese seem to be masters at this going by things like that 7/11 Japanology episode. Take this webcamera for example, almost every customer as soon as they go into the store looks at the central table, and most buy from it too, even though the side tables are like overflow tables that generally have the fresher stuff on it. This store takes advantage of people going to the central table first to sell the older bentos first.

Once you learn the common tricks, you do save quite a bit of money.

I appreciated seeing that live, though I was having major problems with streams at the time and 2 hours of recordings made around 16 minutes of footage since the rest got stuck buffering.

same here. I got random disconnect times, so I tried running two stream recorders at the same time (vlc on mac, and vlc in a linux virtual machine) and they had different disconnect times, so that maybe one way around it.

Originally a train cam thread has been a general live cam thread for sometime now imo and has a community as that. Hell I wouldn't of been able to even find the old Kabukicho cam address and screenshot myself there without someone's help and that's almost three years ago now so it has been operating as a bit of a general cam thread for a while and the guy that likes weather.
I am against mixing it with the photography thread as things would move to fast and post quality would go down.
