Satsuki is the best female character, next to Arima Miyako.

She got her life saved by Shiki, and what does she do? Does she cling to him like some sort of desperate, pathetic slut?

Hell no.

She just admires the virtues of the man who rescued her from afar, content with merely observing him. This carries on for years, as she slowly develops a true, pure love that refuses to fade with the passage of time. Just watching Shiki was enough for her, but then one day she actually gets to walk home with him.

The amount of happiness this brought her was impossible for her to hide, and she finally got to interact one-on-one with the man she had come to love. Things were progressing even better than she had ever dreamed; it was almost looking like she could show Shiki the pure, innocent love she had for him and maybe even be accepted!

But then, she got bitten and turned into a vampire. Naturally, when that is the case, it is well-nigh impossible to resist the inevitable bloodlust. Satsuki even has to cave in to it. But when Shiki was put in danger by it, she actually manages to control the insatiable desire, and hold on to her sanity for the very end. All so she could protect the one who protected her so long ago; all so she could tell him the feelings she had kept to herself for so long.

And what was her reward?

The man she loves ceases her existence.

My spelling and grammar suck as usual even though english is my first language.

If I ever got the chance to write a Tsukihime adaptation, I'd totally set up Satsuki as the main heroine, at least for half the series.

I'd keep her around for a while, meeting Akiha at school, wondering why Shiki is going out late at night with a woman in white, perhaps even coming over to the house with Arihiko in a crazy breather episode.

Then, after Shiki and Arc defeat Nero, Satsuki dissapears. THEN we follow the plot again.

Don't know if it would work, but it'd be a nice fake out if it did.
