That new album in the other autosaging thread was kind of bland to me. I liked Minimoni and Tanpopo. The group fits well with the previous groups, imo. Karin and Kanon sound almost exactly alike, too. Karin just sounds younger lol.png And for Tanpopo, I totally didn't recognize Chisato at first blink.png I really thought she was Kamei... Mitsui sounded good on the verse lines, too.

And Hagiwara sounded way better than normal in the PucchiMoni song. It really surprised me... I think we need Takahashi/Linlin duet of something for the next concert. Linlin isn't quite up to Takahashi, but it'd certainly be a power fes

They weren't meant to, they just contained those specific configurations. You could think of these songs like the 2nd track on an individual Shuffle CD, it's just another song featuring those girls, completely unaffected by that group's signature style. (Mini Moni's song being the BIG exception)

Tsunku obviously didn't write these songs, so they shouldn't necessarily sound very much like H!P past and the arrangers can only do so much to maintain the "H!P" sound.

This album was more like a preview of the girls voices working together before they have group debuts. (because seriously, on paper some of these groupings seem insane) # # # #

The Tanpopo & Pucchi Moni songs debuted at their recent concert, those songs capture the sub-units. Who knows when or how they'll be officially released, but it probably isn't far.

Thats a good point because I remember the album arrangements splitting the song credits on Plat 9, so to some degree the control was pryed from Tsunku's hand.

I never particularly liked Kanna's voice, but she really did have this presence in C-ute that kind of says to me something like "Hi, I'm Kanna. I was a H!P Egg and worked my ass off to be in C-ute." Although when I listen to songs like Bye Bye Bye! and their recent single, I won't be able to tell that Kanna left the group which is why not much will change in their music (aside from PV's and all that), but I will miss her.

I think I've finally got the hint...

It was Megumi Murakami, who was one of the lead singers of the H!P Kids. That was a pretty big loss and it was weird considering the "scandal" photos weren't a big deal. Anyhow, I also think these situations are too often construed as "OMG FIRED" when perhaps these girls decide that they want to have a more normal life. Maybe they are given ultimatums (ie dump the bf or we fire you) and they choose to quit.

I hardly ever post something of value here, but I actually went to her fan event in Tower Records in Shinjuku little more than a week ago. So while reading everyone's AX-experiences, I thought I might as well write down something about mine.

I wasn't expecting to get any sort of ticket when I bought the single, but I did and was super surprised. With my tiny kanji reading skills I also made out something that seemed to say "hand shaking" on the ticket. Super pumped. I also forced my friend to buy the single in order to get a ticket, so she came along with me even thought she's not a fan. :D She came out on stage and sang no hesitAtIon. I got a pretty good spot almost up front in the audience, and could see her clearly. I noticed how pretty she's gotten, and that her singing was pretty awesome live.

Some wota replied "I got a raise", and she congratulated him. After that she played rock-paper-scissors with the audience, and some people recieved signed posters when they won against her. Ai, JunJun, and LinLin all were rather pretty, though I really like Ai when her hair is down and not up.

As for Aika, up close she's one of nicest girls in the group and the most expressive mouth of them all. She hands down as the best lip curl~ :3. And unlike some of the other girls her face isn't covered in acne. (I'm looking at you Sayumi! Oh My GOD someone should give her some Proactive or SOMETHING! I don't understand because you can't see ANYTHING in pictures - including AX pictures. Sayumi seems to have this lovely peaches and cream color to her complexion and I'm sort of bummed to know she has acne (well, they are human and teenagers I guess). She has her good and bad angles clearly, as I and another anon were hypothesizing, we felt that perhaps she is gearing up for her graduation or hopefully another photobook. Its always amazing how dramatic these girls are able to change their looks even at Gaki-san's age.

Let me spoil that for you: It's pretty damn bad. Sub-par production and auto-tuned japanese rappers is what that track has to offer. Maki sounds amazing however.
And she needs to stick close to Sweet Black, some fine production coming out of that camp. I hope that her album (whenever that's coming out) is all Sweet Black productions. Don't think that will happen though.

She was a contestant in the Finnish Idol competition, got noticed because of her chipmunk-ey audition with Koi Kana, but didn't get into the semifinals. Her rendition of the song has propably been already released as a single, and it was featured in a commercial too. The lyrics are even cheesier than the original, and her voice sounds really forced to me, and I myself really don't get the fuss about her. But it might be an interesting find to the H!P fans who haven't heard it/about it yet, since mostly only Finnish youngsters know about it .

You can hear the song. It sounds OK but I need a longer clip to judge whether its good or not. Later on, you see some of the cd cover shot, and it looks like they're in "normal" clothes, so it isn't a "cosplay" unit like the SC tie up units. Actually, it kind of has that ZYX/AA vibe. Anyway, I'm mildly excited about this unit. Yuuka is awesome (and cute). Kanon and Sakitty can sing. The only weak link is DAWA, but I guess no group can be perfect.

The whole first verse is played from 0:34 to 2:05. I would have liked to have heard the whole song,but I guess they're saving it for the concert. It sounds pretty unique as far as HP goes. I can't point out an HP song (and I've heard way too many) and say "This sounds like..." That's a good thing. I think their success will depend on having their own sound and image, kind of like how Buono has its own.

BTW, for wota keeping score (to get your chants ready), the intro part goes from Yukarin, to Sakitty, to DAWA, and then Kago... I mean Kanyon. (I mean look at that picture! It's like Tsunku begged some higher power, "I need Kago Ai back... before she slutted out!" and then he got Fukuda Kanon)

I haven't really cared for her for quite some time, probably since she left MM, if I really think about it. Second, its a Hexagon single, which tend to have some of the worst production ever; just look at the 2 that Satoda Mai has released. The vocals are all off, the arrangements are very sparse, and even at that, they aren't mixed very well and many corners are cut as far as using real instruments and stuff. They also didn't get real PVs, the PVs for both of them were basically a joke filmed on the set of Hexagon.

So I'm not very excited, but I'm not going to say I won't listen to it.

Long story short, I come here lost for words as to how to feel about what I just read. Is it a joke, right? Who the hell was that careless and desperate to greenlight the whole project?
Whatever the answer, here I am to demand you pundits to shed light over three things that baffled me the most.
