I like the tower in concept but I think I need more characters or to understand the game better to make it far. That said it's a step in the right direction but still feels like shuffling around the best hitters and smacking the enemy around. The prizes really ought to be better though. Lame rewards aren't much compelling me. I guess I want that paper doll at the end but that's about it.

For anyone curious the basic rundown is it's a 30 level endurance run in which you can use your entire roster, but they don't heal between battles. You CAN heal, but there's a limit. Very high level and high stat enemies that you mostly can't just spam to defeat. I think I need a debuffer character on my team, I never got Tewi or Medicine and I've yet to get Hina (who I imagine debuffs)

The only really good reward is at floor 25. For some reason they thought one of those super dolls would be best for that floor instead of floor 30.

Both Medi and Tewi are top tiers. Medi is the best barrier breaker in the game.
Healer and tank allow you to stall almost any floors that do not have enemies that can break your tank barriers.

There are way too many characters who are weak against the same few elements in the tower. I brought in shitty lvl 70 characters like Star and Sunny just to break some barriers a few times. Moon, Star and Sun are almost the only elements even required to kill the named characters on every floor. Poor Remi can only kill someone like Youmu.

Yes. I run Sanae and Kanako plus dmg dealer (mainly Medi or Tewi for dot poison) for most of the floors. Other strong dmg dealers could be used to quickly clear out a boss or enemies that can break your tank's barriers. Then, you can stall to refresh skills' cooldown and heal your hp/barriers.

I was thinking of doing something like that too after a few floors but I have not a single tank character actually upgraded. Had to do it with characters like Toyohime who had a ton of extra health because of picture cards.

Post teams and what floor you're currently in. I'm in floor 10 with a ragtag team of some of my favorites they kinda suck as a 6 man team since they're just randomly put together but I think I'm doing ok.

Already finished the tower and this is the team that I run for the majority of the floors with one flex slot.
Momiji is a really good tank. With a healer, she should be able to tank and stall almost any floors.

I beat it but I swapped teams on every floor. I had no tanks upgraded at all so it was basically just rushing down enemies with elemental weaknesses or waiting until the enemies stacked so much of the AoE resistance that even regular single target shots would deal 100k+ damage.

It's not like I particularly want even that though. If I DID want limited characters, that would mean I'd need luck or mad autistic effort or dumb spending to get one in the first place, and then I'd need several special dolls to get them to max. It's not a fun prospect for an OC (and I assume it'll always be an OC, otherwise they'll stir controversy)

Hijirin is most likely going to take the title of worst character in the game now since she is the tank with the least amount of self recovery. Either her or someone like Meiling who is an attacker who can't trigger a single elemental hit at all.

That's just completely false. Her first shot (spread shot) has draining. She can heal every turn. On the other hand, both Reimu and Momiji don't have any healing ability.

Their new tower was fun but there is sadly very little to discuss about it. Can't even replay stages besides the last one and it is not going to be reset the next time it shows up according to their patch notes so the only thing left is just finding the most optimal team for the final stage to farm it.

I'm bitter about Reimu. I think their reasoning in making her garbage is that basically any player can get Reimu for free, and she's the protagonist, but she's a POWERFUL protagonist. She should kick ass, at least at high levels

They missjudged hard how tank characters would work. Yukari was trash too and she was one of the limited banner characters. I sparked Yukari in the early days of the game and then had no use for her at all.

mostly forgiving for what it's worth, though I guess it depends on luck. I've gotten nearly everyone I wanted so far, and not even just under rate up banners. It should be noted that different banners at time offer different characters completely, too. It's USUALLY "best" to use a character banner rather than the general one that's always available, since there's usually more characters offered.

It's not grindy. Honestly most level progression comes from plopping your characters down in this one thing and feeding them. The rest will come over time. It does take a while to get to 100 for characters if you're not grinding, but for the majority of content all you need is 3 fairly tough characters. Eventually at higher difficulties and such, you're better off with at least 6. Anyway I haven't been disappointed by rates yet

Not him but Flandre only has 50% accuracy on all her moves and not even the highest attack in the game so she is pretty much unusable unless you specifically build your team to boost her accuracy all the time. Chen has the same low accuracy but at least she can boost herself to 3.0 power on her first turn with her skills alone.

I own several kimonos, which I wear around Hell Capital. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Gensokyo, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Japanese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

She heals with some of her attacks but has no skills to heal barrier or health. Not sure how much she would actually heal if she attacks because I do not have her leveled up. If it is based on damage then she might be useful against enemies who spam the AoE resistance buff since her attacks are single target.

Eh I guess there's both a downside and an upside to not starting day 1 in JP first of all the cube nerf is already gonna be preset in global launch so you're fucked on that front and you're gonna be behind on girls so while you're favorite might already be available on JP you'll probably have to wait till god knows when on global. The good side is that those few event costumes that you might have missed (maid Youmu, soldier Reisen, ect.) will be reran in global so you have another go at them.

So it seems like Aya is supposed to be an evasion tank since she can boost her aggro and evasion. All her stats besides speed are pretty low though and she has almost the worst HP in the game. I'm not sure how good evasion tanking will work in this game. Enemies raising their evasion can be super annoying at least. I remember missing Yukari all the time when I started playing the game. Aya's evasion buff skill only seems to last for 1 turn so she can only really evade 1 big attack and is then stuck hoping that her passive drops enemy accuracy.

Youmu has pretty low attack for an all out attacker but she also gains more attack for each boost and shield she uses on that turn which made her the strongest attacker in the early days. By now there are so many characters who have 300 or more attack than her by default that her damage is nothing special anymore. Suika and Ran basically do what Youmu does but better because they also gain more attack when using shields. Suika has 400 more attack yb default and her effect is for the entire team too.
