This is true. And by extension that makes all of you what? Anyone?

that was phrased a bit oddly, but I think you meant weird is point of view. Yes, while weird is subjective, so are good and evil. I'm not trying to get on all that though. For the sake of not sounding like stoner hippies that killing is evil eating your greens is good and certain things (Japan) are weird.

>>2994985
Please elaborate.

Dumb and stupid? I believe it to be smart and smarter.
I bet a 14 years old kid did not right it.

Gentleman you must at least admit there's at least a grain of truth to this article. In the world's history Japan was always respectable nation. Now... well people often point and laugh. For the record I do enjoy me some Japanese peculiarities.

>> No.2995095

>>2995081
No OP, you're the peculiarities.

>> No.2995098

What you're trying to say is that Japan is objectively weird. I hold that as naive. They're just subjectively bizarre when compared with most of the world, so they run on their own frame of reference.
Meanwhile, every cultural group has differing features that would make it weird and strange to anyone else. Like, say having to eat everything you're served on your plate. Other cultures just stop when they're full and leave some food left, instead of forcing themselves to finish it all.
Or the cult to celebrities. Or how companies can get away with prosecuting and suing their own customers and hardcore fans.

How does a frivolous lawsuit like arguing that coffee was served too hot goes through, or why are there people dedicated to collect every piece of paraphernalia from some pop culture aspect.

And Anno is not the best reference as to why the japanese are so weird. The japanese think Anno is weird, along with most of their otaku. Actual japanese values aren't so far from the modern western way of thinking.

Except that, you know, it's acceptable to just shrug away most japanese things and say "Japan is so wacky!" than thinking about their different modern culture. Same with most nations.

I still don't get why it's so hard for people to realize that most things are subjective.

>> No.2995099

No, I am actually quite average. You could say boring. The most abnormal thing I do is browse the chans.

>> No.2995129

>>2995098
Differing cultures is one thing. Example. Canadians like mayonnaise with their fries. Americans like ketchup. But the Japanese are not small steps such as though, but a good mile away. American hippies name their kids after plants or animals. Japanese hippies name them after symbols. Like ampersand. and indeed the point of this is subjectivity. Being outside the norm is weird. The cult to celebrities exist world wide. And the more 1st world countries often manipulate the legal systems.

>> No.2995127

>>2995081
Your article sucks bro. It's just "lol japan is weird cuz they have cartoons and cartoon porn" and then an old as fuck Anno quote. You could have mentioned some of the truly weird or disturbing stuff about Japan, but it's obvious that you don't really know anything about the country.

>> No.2995135

>>2995127
Not a bit. But perhaps you'd like to share some of these "truly bizzare" things.

Also, slightly off topic, western culture does have cartoon porn, but it isn't nearly as worshiped.

I don't profess to be an expert on Japanese culture, which is why I don't write blog posts about it. But I'd stay stuff like kigurumi, child modeling, and some of their fetish porn is a lot more weird than just anime and hentai. Or just watch some of their non-anime television like their game shows and variety shows. Also they don't "worship" hentai in Japan.

I wouldn't really call it extremist minorities. Besides we're talking about one country; a small one at that. One person there means a lot more than one person in England or America. Statistically speaking, of course. Anyway, I'm too tired and if you didn't guess from my second pic I'm a troll. I'm going to play some Saya no Uta before hitting the hay. Night weaboos.
