I think they improved the lightning. Still not as good as SEGA Miku but maybe I would actually go to a concert that only uses that model now. The worst part of these new models is definitely the shading of the face, it makes them feel very fake. Miku's hair physics glitches are also really jarring with this model.

I expected to hate what they did to Rin but... I like the new model, actually. She's cute and pretty. I was sure they'd make her look too mature but she's still got the loli vibe. I'm worried over the versatility of the model though. The strength of the SEGA models is that while they don't have any obvious character, they can fit any genre of song. This Rin looks like a cute dere girl which fits MY interpretation, but what about other people's interpretations, and what if they decided to use this model in a rock song? The model just feels way too cute and girly to work with different genres. I could easily be proven wrong though.
Len's hair makes him look incredibly weird, his bangs are too long. The hair physics on him are neat though. Also their height difference is now very obvious.

This was fucking amazing, everyone really gave their absolute best. Mad props to the japanese fans being able to clap for 3 minutes straight and generally managing to last the concert without cheering or singing. That being said, it was kind of sadistic to still put in the "cheer for encore" part but it's probably cultural for miku concerts at this point.
Gimme x gimme managed to be even more perfect than the original, the movements were so smooth, the dance seemed western-pop-ish but in a good way, the guitar solo was great and I bet Miku x Rin fags are happy with those lewd shoulder touches. The Rin & Len interactions in their song were also adorable.
Kaito was ridiculously handsome and manly this time despite the ugly costume and it made me want to suck his dick so I guess I'm a Kaitofag now.
I'm also impressed that every single Meiko performance was great including "change me" that seemed much more high energy now and her module's long legs, pronounced belly shimmering through and the nice zoom in of her hip shake. It also made me wish there were more songs of the twins with her because it was surprisingly fun. Hearing Meiko actually talk and seeing more of her expressions made me like her more and gave her a bit more character, they really should do that more often with someone other than Miku. She's a cute. It really was a proper celebration of Meiko's birthday despite being cursed with wholoiddom.

i really, truly hate to break it to you. there really isn't much downtempo when it comes to vocaloid. it's pretty much nonexistent. As a Miku fan, I also am incredibly fond of downtempo myself. Nujabes, nightmares on wax, thievery corporation, bowery electric, zero 7. to name a few. i also find myself frequenting groove salad as well. Their algorithm nowadays only recommends the 30-something most popular producers and songs (often from years ago) and gets stuck in a loop of getting the same things recommended you already listened to once you've hit a certain point. The only way to have new songs and producers in your recommendations that don't already have a billion views, is to listen to a lot of new songs with low views (which you can't, if you only depend on recommendations who'll only show you popular and already known shit).
Back in the good ol' days their recommendations easily showed new and much more diverse videos, it was truly an endless rabbit hole. A bunch of my top listened songs are from that time too, despite only having 1-3k viewers after all these years. Fansub and NND Re-upload channels blooming and picking up various degrees of popularity among songs also helped a lot.

My first exposure to Vocaloid was either a Kaito cover of Seikan Hikou or a Code Geass MAD set to Aku no Meshitsukai, but I didn't know that it wasn't a human singing in those instances. I found out after the fact.
