Have you already formed a shameless pattern in your first selection when playing VNs for the first time?

When it's an eroge with routes, which character archetypes do you usually make a beeline for?

When shit hits the fan and you're called upon to make choices, are you ducking for cover or is your first thought to FUCK YEAH yourself into certain death?

Or do you just cheat like a bitch and get all your answers from a FAQ beforehand?

I WANT THE SLUT SO I CAN RAPE HER AND RAPE HER GOOD. WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO RAPE THE SLUT IN THESE GAMES? NOT THAT I CARE, MIND YOU.

>> No.2992468

I go for whatever I feel like doing on the first run, and if I get a character end, fuck yeah; if not, I try my best for the character I like the most.

I go for the route of the girl I first meet/most important to MC or whatever feels most canon, then I go for the most intriguing story next. The hot girls take a backburner if they don't seem to have interesting stories.

>> No.2992464

I always go from least favorite -> favorite heroine.

Of course, doing this usually burns me out and I never get to my favorite's route.

I do this, though I don't suffer from burnout. I really like ending a VN on a good note so that's why I save the heroine I like the most for last, though sometimes their routes can be a bit lacking.

As for archetypes, it tends to be the ice queens or the ones with tragic past/used goods, it just seems like their stories have more of an emotional impact on me.

incest then older wimminz then lolis , whichever sounds most unlikely IRL mostly

I go for the imouto. Then this >>2992464

First time through I always play making the choices I think I would make, but even if I die I try to go back and make it through the whole game as "me".

I used to make a beeline for the tsundere, but I've since discovered that although I love tsundere characters, I usually prefer them when it's not their route so that they don't just randomly start craving the cock even when it doesn't make sense. Also moeblobs don't rate as highly as they used to.

First introduced to VNs: Akiha>Kohaku>Hisui>Arc>Ciel

Today: Akiha>Ciel=Kohaku>Arc=>Hisui

I think it's less about character archetypes and more about the way said archetypes are presented, but yeah, I tend to try to play the girl who I am drawn to the most first.

>When shit hits the fan and you're called upon to make choices, are you ducking for cover or is your first thought to FUCK YEAH yourself into certain death?
This depends on genre. If it's just a romance, I try to save my ass. If it's got action, I try to do daring things, since those tend to be rewarded.

>Or do you just cheat like a bitch and get all your answers from a FAQ beforehand?
Using a FAQ / walkthrough on a visual novel is pretty sad. I've only done this once, and it was for Clannad, since I only wanted to play three specific girls' routes and I didn't get the route I wanted at first because I wasn't cruel enough somehow (fucking Nagisa).

>> No.2992512

I get the least impressive out of the way first, so I save the best for last.

It worked for Tsukihime, and it worked for most other ones.

>> No.2992531

I always use a walkthrough. Choices are just annoying and make things complicated. I'd prefer VNs to not have much choices at all.

>> No.2992556

no guides on first playthrough
natural choices
girls with long & dark hair preferred

>> No.2992555

Unless the main heroine has a bad end the first time around, I almost always find myself going for the bokukko first. If there is a bad/normal end for the main heroine, I do that first, then play the other routes and finish up with her good end.

I'm a sucker for genkis and geeks. Ciel and Kohaku were my favorite tsukihime characters. I just like playful people.

A very broad meaning of "healthy." Psychologically more than anything else.

Kohaku's behavior is genki, although it's a front. Arcueid's silly, carefree behavior is genki or pretty close to it.

Classic examples of Genki girls are Azumanga's Tomo and Toradora's Minorin.

>> No.2993003

1- main girl
2- 'tragic heroine' (usually my favourite)
3- the rest

>> No.2993067

I do whatever the game implies is the natural order.

>> No.2993147

I usually go for the main girl first because they usually have the most development in the common path, so if I save them for later I'll feel like I missed that development because I skip repeated scenes during later playthroughs. After that I go from favorite to least favorite heroine.

If there isn't really a main girl, or if they don't receive disporpotionate attention during the common path, then I just go from favorite to least favorite. I don't have any archetypes that I prefer, it's on a character to character basis.

>> No.2993152

I've done FAQ's in certain cases such as Ever17 where the save slots were confusing and bad ends were at the very end of the game. That and after getting Tsugumi Bad End I thought I was going to die... then I got her Good End and did die Ironic...

>>2992531

I tend to 2nd this opinion. I don't feel that many VN's make good use of choices when there are more than a few in each route. Ex Clannad: Do I really want to reload 6 times so I can find the random classroom the heroine I'm looking for is in?

Also I kind of like how Nasu writes a half set route order. I think it makes more sense to be exposed to the story as the author wants you to be.

First play through I don't pay attention to which route or girl and just pick the choices I find myself agreeing most with.

After that, I tend to go for the girl who seems to be the most broken. I want to make her better. ;_;
