Depends on how she teaches it and for what purpose.
I've studied uni-level history both in the West and the East, and one of the tendencies I noticed with Eastern history teachers is that they seemed to place more emphasis on orthodox interpretations over novel ones, to the point that I learned to deviate less from what I expected they wanted to hear, rather than what I truly thought or was most interested in arguing. Not to say that a few of my Western professors weren't similarly biased, but if I responded to an exam question or a wrote a paper with a well-supported idea, Western professors were generally more willing to take it at face value and grade on the method rather than the tone or possible dissonance. I never took a course in native Japanese or Chinese though, these were English courses, so my experiences may not be representative of the native-language courses.
Now factor in that Keine is literally a traditional educator, which would have been even more conservative regardless of East/West cultural differences, and I would assume that she would might be less than ideal for someone aspiring to be a historian. She may not even be the best in Gensokyo.

However, I think she would be an excellent source for fact-finding, and elaborating on the history of Gensokyo with sound sources and reasoning. Which for most people is really all that they would be looking for in a history teacher. And at least in Gensokyo, the existence of people like Akyuu, youkai, and gods who serve as much more consistent and long-lasting primary sources than what we get in the normal world would probably lessen the need/desire for working with incomplete, secondary, and tertiary sources.

That's my point precisely. I doubt Keine is particular versed in the discourse of historical fact-finding and criticism beyond what provides for the best narrative for the humans of the village while still seemingly satisfying the most obvious loose-ends and sources of doubt. And in a world where the gods are often visible, I'd imagine people are a bit more willing to take fantastic claims at face value.

I more meant that there are more than a few youkai who know more than what the regular villagers would be told. Some of the other species as well, but to varying extents, as we can see with the tengu both being more informed and out of the loop to incidents in canon.

The stories of a person from the outside world, if not responded to with outright hostility, wouldn't be taken seriously due to its irrelevance and irreverence to the world they live in. The modern world would be, ironically enough, illusory to humans in Gensokyo.

And while I know at least a few /jp/sies who have gone over those guides of how to show practical scientific knowledge to impress people of the past and jump-start civilization, that's the exact kind of action that would get you on the shit-list of those in-the-know.
