Actually, Shiki's power is not magical at all. The only magic used is to activate his eyes (which are actually not true Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, and are in fact psychic and not magical at all).

Shiki can kill Endless Nine.

I was thinking of it this way:

Battler's denial is the the ultimate shield against magic.
Shiki's Mystic Eyes is the ultimate sword

So if someone has both he becomes nearly untouchable.

Can battler deny his denying ability?

Battler's magic resistance must deny itself or else he accepts that magic does exist.

Does Battler have to recognize something as magical before he can deny it?

I'm thinking about sneaky, stealthy, Mage: the Ascension type magic that masquerades as strokes of ordinary luck.
