Yeah. It's a bit tedious to do if there are a few generals you want to keep+you have to keep in mind their idol specific threads, but once it's done, you get your touhou-ethnoboard back.

Not him, and yeah it is not literally stated in this thread, but even as someone who generally sticks to one-off or 2hu threads, anons do seem to be rather sensitive to virtually anything becoming more popular than 2hu on /jp/ as if that is a failure of anons or moderation, rather than a natural change in things.

I think less spoiled and more different standards.
As much as people throw around terms like describing /jp/ as "shit," or "terrible," I think that more specifically it is one of the most pedantic and restricted boards for its size. No board has such an active enforcement on allowed generals other than /vg/, which is dedicated to generals. No other boards is so specific on what series/franchises have threads for individual characters outside of a designated general. No other board is as persistent with pruning memes used on pretty much the rest of the site, besides maybe /a/.
/jp/ is a board which is really antithetical to how 4chan boards generally go, especially the most popular ones, and so attracts people who are antithetical to anons on other boards. This creates an exceptional environment where people who otherwise couldn't handle the banter/shitposting tend to stick around. So basically once something comes along that generates more banter/shitposting, they don't have much recourse besides getting it contained, or moving on to another community. And at least with /jp/, I get the feeling there may not be a viable alternative for many. It's not as if people haven't tried making a good number of splits.

I'd say the only positive thing that could be done in a way that isn't a huge double standard would be to split /jp/ into two boards based on 2d/3d, but that would only slow down the boards, and vtubers could technically be on either. And really, the people who either cling to a single franchise or a certain community tone would be left unsatisfied regardless.
