If ZUN were to come to an American convention, how many of you would go see him? Actually, how many people do you think would see him?

Would you say the American Touhou fanbase is big enough to warrant an appearance from him at a convention?

"What's this anime about?"
"It's about witches that shoot bullets"
"Ell oh ell, so random!"

>> No.295597

The Department of Homeland Security would get him for being a terrorist because he hates America.

The American Touhou fanbase doesn't intersect with the population that goes to conventions.

I think the westerner is filth. I want not come for america.

>> No.295610

It would just be ZUN, drunk as hell and ranting about how pigdisgusting Americans are. So, hell yes I would go see him.

no one will see him if he isn't looking for him

Correction- In his mindset. Any Japanese person who has lived outside Japan for a while realizes how xenophobic they really are.

>> No.295705

Yeah, everyone knows that ZUN despises Americans. But when you consider that exactly three people in this entire country have actually paid money for his games, can you blame him? Imagine this conversation:

Weeaboo: zomg I love your games!
ZUN: Oh? Where did you get them?
Weeaboo: Bittorrent.
ZUN: drunken RAAAGE

The less on here: help enable Japanese alcoholism by exchanging your jewgolds for Touhou games.

a couple of anons have said they would buy the games if they could get them at cons and such

I'm going to buy Touhou games in bulk and sell them at Otakon. Good idea?

>> No.295828

>>295748
There's always at least one booth selling Touhou games. At a big con like Otakon or AX, there will probably be several. Unless you're going to tiny hole-in-the-wall conventions in Podunk you should have no problem getting them. The only one that ever seems slightly elusive is IaMP, which I had to bug my dealer friend for a year to get.

>>295768
As mentioned above, you'll have some competition, and Otakon tables are fucking expensive. But if you wanna go for it, more power to you.

ZUN HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED BY HOMELAND SECURITY!

ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO RESCUE ZUN?

>> No.297196

>>295840
Yeah, I can't speak for European cons, but American cons certainly have no shortage of import games and doujin goods. But if such things aren't readily availabe, you could always go to himeyashop.com or paletweb.com and buy from them. Himeyashop's prices are a little higher than what I expect at a con, though, and the shipping is rapetastic. It would almost be cheaper to hop a plane over to Otakon than to buy from himeyashop or paletweb.

>> No.297235

I dunno, I made it a point of searching for any Touhou merchandise at Otakon last year. No art, figs, or doujin music obviously. But no games anywhere I went, unless they got bought up within the first 15 minutes.
Ton of ero-doujin, though. Too bad the cheapest was like $15 US.

>>297235
You weren't looking hard enough. That was when I picked up IaMP. And there were still copies of the other games available. Music CD's were available also, I picked up the Advent Cirno CD. I think some IOSYS albums were there.

This was the middle of the afternoon on Friday. Were only there on Sunday or something? Because fine doujin goods tend to sell out pretty quickly.

>> No.297364

>>297297
Early Saturday, the Friday dealer room crowd at Otakon makes my head spin (mostly from the mass stench of thousands of unshowered American fanboys). But I probably wasn't looking in the right spots. Any dealers to keep my eyes on this year?

Hen da ne. They always carry a healthy stock of Touhou games, CD's, and ero books. But you would do well to endure the crowd and the stench of Friday, since the best and rarest stuff WILL sell out in the first few hours.
