lotgh is good so far but the issue i have is that despite the battles being a big focus, there isn't enough strategic exposition to explain how the main characters win. it cant be shown through the animation since they couldn't manage it back then i guess and the lack of detailed exposition about tactics/strategy results in a lot of "the main characters won cause they're smart and the enemy is dumb" scenarios.

i think you misunderstood, im playing the dubbed episode (which has no subs) as the video file and the english subbed episode as the audio file
the end result is a raw episode (i think its quite amazing that mpv is able to do these manipulations on url sources), from there you can just drag and drop the japanese subtitle file onto the video as usual, works perfectly for me

you can try this with any anime which has dubs and use any streaming site which offers both subs and dubs

okay so this is the most difficult and autistic setup ever first of all, just downloading anime is much easier... i had to
1) open the subbed episode
2) open the dubbed episode
3) retrieve mp4 urls from both in the network tab
4) put them into the command line correctly
5) find a random sub file and drag it in
6) use z/Z to adjust the sub delay to make it match the audio

aaaaaand then it all worked fine. i made a card from multiple lines. maybe your subs are timed weird?

it takes me half a minute to get started watching an episode with this setup, i find it to be a very lightweight and convenient way of watching and mining from anime
downloading from nyaa can take up to half an hour at times because there aren't enough seeders or because the only version getting seeded is the highest quality (hence taking longer)
if you can use animebytes or some other private tracker im guessing this isnt as much of an issue

public trackers are also undesirable for a variety of other reasons
and if you want to use a vpn then you run into the issue that most free and reliable ones either have hard data caps (only 10+gig single season files being seeded in some cases on nyaa so you run out of data) or entirely block p2p traffic, with my setup you can easily use any vpn and get started watching right away

when i switched to just a single video url and tried the same the audio file issue was fixed
did you have any audio issues on the cards you made with the subbed and dubbed urls?

also a minor thing but the card did not update at all if i used only part of a line (not copying the line end to end), its not really much of an issue because you seldom select the context so precisely but idk just saying

why do "professional" translators take so long to translate shit again?

some of the manga I used to read takes over a week to get a translated chapter (the fucking mangaka takes a week to come up with the story and draw all the pages, you lazy translator cunts)
