Another story worth checking out that is quite well written is Fallout Gensokyo. Can reach up two weeks or so in between each update, but the updates are massive in size, so it balances out in the end.

Nothing wrong with good fanfiction.

And in fact, nothing wrong with bad fanfiction either, since it either makes good MST bait or, if it's really So Bad It's Horrible, you can just ignore it.

There's a few light-hearted slice-of-life ones, the best is probably Harker's "Contemplations Under the Moon and Stars", although lately he can't update to save his life. The two recent SDM stories where the protagonist is a fairy maid are also really good, including the best portrayal of Flandre I've ever seen. Also "Distilled Encounters from Festive Times", and I think "Fragmentation of Memories" and "I, Youkai" would mostly count.

Distilled Encounters from Festive Times on /shrine/ is looking good although its only about half way through
