You can't "spoil" the truth in the first chapter, that's not the correct way to narrate a novel. So the next plausible explanation besides multiple personality disorder is the cliched evil twin but that's also rather lame.

Oh and by the way, the Chinese translation is not very good. Hmm... not good isn't the word either, it's inconsistent. Specially with the naming.
