At the same time, it feels elegant and classy, a real, natural feeling step up from the student-like feeling Miku's design originally had, and reflects her impact and status in the real world when compared to her humble beginnings

Idk feels like they ran out of ideas. Those wavey things look kinda eh imo and really don't combine with Miku's clean and simple design philosophy. The skirt seems too long and high heels are also out of place really. Her belt (or whatever that is) is now some mess and the tie looks like a rope she was trying to hang herself on. Also round hairpieces look nowhere as good the good ol square ones, which can be considered a signature piece if Miku's style. I mean overall this design feels like a messt failed attemp at combining the futuristic original Miku's design philosophy with the classical one. Well, at least ger handwarmers and hairstyle are proper this time I guess...

Alright, are you ready for autism?
I like this design. It seems like they tried to bring a more modern, classy feel to her design while retaining the basic retro parts.
It's interesting that they ditched the traditional tie, loafers, and pleated skirt. It seems like the designer(s) are convinced that seifuku are going out of fashion, so they're going for more of a cute princess-y approach, which I don't mind. The pastel colors work well with that approach. I like the ribbon tie. I do have a few beefs, which I've edited in pic related.

Biggest thing is the twintail silhouette. I think the exaggerated bell shape is really important (see mini diagram). My guess is that ixima prefers the silhouette on the left because it's closer to how real twintails look, but that's lame. If less than half of Miku's body weight is in her hair then there probably isn't enough of it. I also added a cowlick to her bangs, personal preference.
I changed the proportions of her shirt to something which I think is slightly more well balanced. The scalloped edges of the front are adjusted slightly. The shape of her skirt is good, but it needs to be drawn voluminously. Again, the bell shape is important. For instance, I think it needs to be more flared out in >>28737899. I think the wavey pattern to the green scalloped edges is weird, but when I changed it, it didn't look significantly better. A two-layer skirt might be good, but it seems unnecessary.
I usually dislike the round hair ties, but I think they work well with the scalloped edges. I'm not 100% on the headphone design, but I couldn't make it better when I tried changing it. I feel like it could use more detail or something. The dangly bits on the end are weird, but I like them.
I prefer it if her eyes are lighter so they match the color of her hair more closely.
I have mixed feelings on the arm warmers/leggings. The transparency is key to making her feel more refined/less retro, but it also makes her more difficult to draw (and it's good if her design is easy to draw, it makes her more accessible). They should be opaque enough that artists can believably simplify them that way. I dislike the dark, shiny texture on the trim; I prefer them matte and the same dark grey as her skirt. I like the white thin warmer underneath the bigger one; it's a good compromise.
I really like the sound wave chain on her hip. If anything, I wish it was more prominent. Same goes for the icon on her shirt.

In general, I think this design is serviceable and a nice mixup option. If I were to draw fanart of it, I'd edit it slightly.

It's fun. I don't play much of it as I don't have that much drive to write fanfics, but even for someone like me who isn't really interested in these stuff, I managed to write few stories. On a surface it's a text RPG where AI is a GM, but it can also be used as an collaborative story telling. It takes some practice to master, but can be great for writing your own stories about literally anything.
One day I have to make something more ambitious with it, right now I just have few random self insert slice of life stories without any specific direction.
