1st game is better in that regard. HL2 took out the lazer weapons, the tripmines, the remote-detonated bombs, the alien shrimp things you could toss into a group of enemimes so they'd attack and distract them, and the weird squid thing that shoots flies that chase after enemies and reloads its ammo automatically, and replaced them all with just the gravity gun and the pheromone sack that you can only use for two segments. What are some good action games that actually feature dismemberment? A lot of the time the ones with swords treat them more like blunt sticks and it pisses me off. Also Mori wants to play Revengeance and Bloodborne but is blocked by permissions.
