I didn't like Air or Kanon much but I loved Clannad and LB!

They're a little overrated, but not as much as say Leaf is.

Most overrated VN studio used to be Navel, but I'm not sure we can still call it that because Oretsuba managed to balance things out by raising the average quality of their games by quite a lot.

Speaking of Leaf, can somebody explain to me the relationship between Leaf and Aquaplus?

Aquaplus is the parent company, Leaf is the brand.

Nobody makes VNs like Key does. They gain power from feasting on your tears.

They aren't overrated at all imo, they make fucking beautiful stories and I commend them for it.

The drama and magical AIDS doesn't take that much place in Clannad thankfully.
Pretty much only in Fuuko's, Misae's and the After Story.
The others are pretty much devoid of magical realism and the drama isn't that predominant.

If so, then they have at least one good VN.

Key isn't too overrated, it's just that some studios that deserve at least as much attention don't get it.

Leaf and Type-Moon are worse on that, though.

Key really demonstrates that the VN medium is really still in its infancy. Compared to more mature mediums the storytelling is crass, simplistic, and little more than emotional masturbation. It has its roots in the wish fulfillment fantasies of porn rather than believable and interesting stories about the human condition.

But I will say that you are being a really bad person for not liking it.
