So I'm playing F/SN for the first time

I was originally gonna wait for it to be fully translated so my first playthrough could be done blindly, but I'm a little tired of waiting. So does it matter which route I play through first? I'm a little more interested in UBW than Fate at the moment

I wasn't really disappointed by UBW, it was good but let say I expected something ZOMG AWESOME after all the hype and I got something that was merely good.
FSN is good but honestly it's really not number 1 material so far even if you count only the VNs that have been translated in english.

Sorry it turned out that way for you, but there were a ton of moments in UBW that really surprised me. I can't remember many lulls in action, and all of the fights had a bunch of awesome moments. Souichirou in particular really surprised me, I was floored at that part.

I thought UBW was better than Fate, though I guess that's partially because the anime is largely based on the Fate route.

So there were more "whoa" moments in UBW. If you haven't seen the anime though Fate might be better.

Oh yeah, me neither. I don't know the details, but some parts look way more relaxed (it's more like a "fun disk" like Kagetsu Tohya, right?), and interacting with some of the characters (like Lancer) in UBW made me want to spend more time with them.
