Rather than discontinuity, the setting/world is the same but the characters of the stories are different. The Ludvico Girls School series is centered on Ludvico (duh) in Tokyo, which was handled by a different production house/company than that for League of Gardens and The Fateful Gift starring Hitotsuyanagi-tai. Some of the characters show up again in LoG/TFG played by the same actresses, like Fukuyama Jeanne Sachie, but other Ludvico actresses appear in different roles. One factoid I found out when looking into it was that Hirosawa Mai, who plays Ishikawa Aoi in LoG and TFG, played a close friend of Aoi's in Ludvico, though of course there was no instance of both characters appearing together at the same time.

You can set English on Amazon, it's just like the western counterpart.
Shipping will probably be around 2k JPY (+ import fees if your country requires them, so VAT + customs fee). They ship by DHL internationally so it's super fast though.
You should probably buy some other items too to justify the shipping cost. It's the volume that matters, not weight with DHL, so some CDs or other magazines/books shouldn't raise the cost too much I guess.
