tl;dr, Gensokyo and everything associated with it exists because people don't believe it exists. So if Battler actively disbelieves Gensokyo with the same passion he does with Beatrice, even if everyone else believes in it for some reason and Battler is still feeding in the disbelief... yeah.

I don't think she ascended to the meta-world, per se. Even if she was a witch, she was still a piece on the chessboard, like a Pawn that becomes a Queen once it reaches the other side of the board. This Queen though just happened to overthrow one of the players.

Yes, Eva-Beatrice doesn't exist outside the episode 3 game board. The pawn/queen metaphor is quite apt; she got promoted, but only within episode 3.

Episode 1: Everyone dies because of the Chernobyl Disaster. The children survived until the end, but got killed in a Vortex anomaly by the portrait.
