I only use female characters in Monster Hunter and MMOs.

For jRPGs I like to keep a balance of males and females.

When I play ANY traditional rpg, I have the main character who is male always surrounded by female party members. Or if this isn't possible, at least all female in the front line.

I suppose, except for that MMO part.

This is natural.
Any self-respecting anon would want to view young loli main characters so that you can fantasize about stuffing your cock in them during the loading screen.

I play the Real Life MMO. The mods never fixed the job classes and cranked up all the prices on shop items. I lost a ton of XP so I'm stuck on the stupid employment quest again, and the server is flooded.

I love those RPGs where you can customize your character's face. I usually stick to male characters and make them celebrity lookalikes. I played through Mass Effect with a decent Tiger Woods, though my Kim Jong-Il was too young and fit.

If the game asks for a party leader, I always choose the girl I like as the leader. All of the games I played were like that. Too bad some English VAs are wrecks.

I'm tired of RPGs only giving you a choice between Male and Female.

I play as girls in MMOs because I like dressing up female characters, but if I have the option to be a cool looking MAN, then I will. I play asian mmos so this is rare.

In normal RPGs, unless there's some reason to pick a female (alternate story or different interactions with characters), then I play male. I tend to keep females out of my normal RPG parties because they suck, except the healbitches and the lolibombs(vita types).

I have never asked for powerlevel, gold or free stuff. Most people in my union didn't even know I was a girl, because I never mentioned my gender unless someone asked me. But my guild was really nice, people got powerlevel and some valuable items for free, even without asking. I think it depends on the game, most attention comes from horny 13 to 16 year old teenager boys. My current guild members in the new mmorpg I started a while ago know about my gender, but most of the time I get treated like guys do, and I'm happy about it. Only one person whom I've known for two years now, often gives me weapons, and joins my party so I could complete some quests faster than by doing them alone.

The new third classes in RO are way more awesome on their male sprites.

I completely agree with the OP. When I played WoW for 3-odd years, every single character I had was a female (about 10 overall across different servers). In any RPG I'd play growing up, I'd always favor one of the female toons and max out her gear/stats.

I played on /jp/ro and have no problem running or developing for eA. Hell, I even was helping one of the GMs out with scripting problems.
I never was able to fix earthquake or other shit because the only person that was ever around with access to the server could not even manage to restart it correctly. (screen was too hard for them or something?)
