the way i understood it, summoning such a strong hero as Hercules into Berserker was actually somewhat of a disadvantage. It takes a lot of effort and energy on the part of the master to control Berserker and to provide him with power, so Illya's weakpoint is that she's something of a sitting dick while controlling Berserker. A non-moralfag would've had an easy time with Illya. Like, Rin hides her presence, sneaks up just behind Illya while Saber is fighting Berserker, and blows her head off with a single jewel.
Of course Shirou always has to take the difficult route.

Remember, Madness is a SKILL.
It's just a FORCED (and amplified) skill for the Berserker class.
Remember how Rider has the "Archer Skill" Independent Action? Well, a Saber can still have the "Berserker Skill" Madness. It just won't be of a very high rank.
So Cu Chulainn probably has Madness rank B or so, but would be Madness rank EX if he was Berserker.

And remember, Madness needs to be activated by the Master. Servant cannot do it alone.

This guys pretty much set for most classes. Exceptions being Rider,Berserker and, Assasin. Personally though i'd like to summon him into the Caster category. If the Servants thought Emiya Shirou as Archer was an oddity they'd really be con-fucking-fused when it comes to him.

I just kind of hope he doesnt have a skill called "Social Link" that amplifies his power by how many friends he currently has. Otherwise i'd be needing to be going to bars with him quite alot.

It's still possible for anyone to defeat Berserker with proper strategy, though.
The biggest problem with Berserker is his lack of strategy. He has to be brute force, and kill his opponents before they can think. No defensive, all offensive.
