Can't we ask for at least a consistent internal logic?

Like making that the intricate needs of scraping by in a post apocalyptic wasteland makes some level of improvement and modification to be more useful to the small, trawling community.
Old tools and remains are regarded as valuable, but debris and years of dust storms makes retrieving anything difficult. So a whole nomad tribe pitches in, collects enough iron and aluminum to cast a digger help arm to graft into a small, capable child.
It is considered a great honor, and Dust Girls are considered to be the representative member of any small tribe.

I don't expect much out of this, seeing that the writer can barely post in english, but a post apocalyptic setting is my fetish, it will warrant a play through at least.

>>digger help arm to graft into a small, capable child.

The problem with this, and it's a big problem, is that children grow. That arm won't fit and may even cause some severe issue in as little as a couple years. Even grafted onto an adult, they'll eventually grow old and a heavy metal graft is going to be hell for someone in their later years. This brings up another problem in that gathering scrap iron to melt down into a graft is going to result in really shitty and really heavy metal. Then there's the issue of disease. This operation can lead to some serious infection. This isn't including mundane day to day things, such as parts being overworked and rendered unusable, sand and grit building up in it, and a power source.

In summary: There kind of project is way out of his scope as a writer. Stick to crappy parodies.

All true. And making it that they have a limited life expectancy with it is not only cheap, but bad drama.
Plus, the always present fault of metal limbs. They can do a lot of work, but they are attached to soft flesh.

You're right, the setting in a hard science way can't work. Unless you add some magick runes or something that make it work as intended, and that's just bad.

But I like the idea of some level of specialization arising from a new set of needs. But without good technology to support it, it falls apart.
Perhaps a bloodline of augmented mutants. Nothing too phenotype noticeable, but a heightened sense of smell for metals. It could bring a factor of "stepping into the old traditions" of ignoring the elders and following fleeting love.
Plus, a tribe that has inbred their members with the trait to make it stronger. The results are not pretty, but savant.

Mad Max/Fist of the North Star except with drill girls sounds pretty great.

Also, Manhattan Island in New York should be a maximum security prison. Maybe our heroine could pay a visit to there one day in a future episode.

Do you have any more? The one up top is really cute.

Your art would be 90% better if you stepped away from the fuzzy brush and looked up color theory. You can't mix soft tonal transitions with black lineart and expect it to work; both are methods of tricking the mind into seeing volume, and on their own, they're great. But when you mix them, everything looks like flat plastic.

Try redoing your coloring with the basic hard-round brush with opacity set to pressure at 50% flow. It'll give you clean, even shades (which go well with lines) but you'll still have the smooth transitions between colors (which you seem to be fond of).

As for the coloring itself... are they all constantly standing under gigantic, artificial tracklights? Then don't color them like they are. When I think of a desert wasteland, I think of a relentless sun in a cloudless sky. This amounts to one strong, direct white light as your primary source and a HUGE amount of blue backlighting. I'd go so far as to do all your underpainting in a desaturated blue before doing your coloring-- it'd really unify the portraits. If you're not into that, then the general scheme should be:

-white light: areas closest to light source, very sparse
-blue light: all over figure, but biased toward the light source (basically, everywhere that would have light from the sky bouncing off of it)
-brown shadows: everywhere opposite to the blue light, very prominent
-black shadows: SPARSE (nothing fucks up a drawing more than visible black shadows...), used only in areas where absolutely NO sun would be hitting. I would advise only using desaturated blacks to accent your brown shadows.

this is really useful. got any more sources for coloring/light? Perhaps in printed form?

for the thread I personally like mugen. I dunno why so many hate him. Sure he isn't a god, but he actually completes stuff and takes art requests and suggestions from /jp/. Overall he seems like a nice guy.
