Its plausible that history mis-recorded King Arthur's gender, especially considering Saber's backstory revealed in the fate route.

But when you take a normal general...albeit a VERY good one...and turn him into someone with awesome supernatural powers....its just not belivable, especially when the power and abilities of a servant are based on what they had in real life.

If Alexander's legend included all sorts of super natural shit, then yea his abilities in fate/zero make sense. His "legend", which is kind of a stretch here, since hes only known as a legendary general, only records his amazing use of tatics/strategy and his obsession with divinity.

Lancer is an amazing spear user and his noble phantasm fits what is recorded in his legend. So is Assassin and Tsubaeme Gaeshi.

Where, exactly, can you find any hint that Alexander the Great had his magical chariot that could rival Enuma Elish? Im fairly sure such a story doesnt even exist.
