Hmmm, been thinking of getting this lately. Is the style of play like Mortal Kombat Trilogy, I used to play that on the PC and got quite proficient. What I mean by style of play is do you use the ' back, back, forward, kick' type thing for special attacks?

It's all subjective, I guess. When I'm fighting someone who's not even allowing me a second of breathing room, I can't focus on what they're doing to beat me, only on the fact that I'm getting owned so hard. I don't mind being a punching bag for people much higher tiers when I'm on my usual characters, but I'm trying to learn a new one today and actually want to be able to attempt combos (which I will fail at anyways because I suck at netplay and its delay shit)

GGs. No problems about the lag, happens to me too. You've got Akiha's corner combo down better than mine does, I'll tell you that, and I think I even saw a TK'd ribbon at some point, so your execution is pretty damn good for your level of play. You just gotta learn how to put that to use.

I'd suggest learning Akiha's instant j.2C combo and 22C setups. Once you have instant j.2C down 100%, it's basically forcing the opponent into a 50/50 mix-up, which given how you were okay at mixing up your dash in 2As and dash in throws, I think it would be quite the addition to your arsenal. It goes j.2C land 2B 2C 5BB air combo. Timing is very, very strict on both the j.2C and 2B though. As for 22C setups, you do the standard corner combo up to 2C then 623B land 22C. Given your mixups, the opponent won't be too keen on leaving the corner, all the while you'll be getting health off of the 22C.

General question: If a combo contains a series of attacks that include a 2X 4X or 2X 6X attack, how do you prevent it from throwing the 214X or 236B special? For example, if I need to hit 2C 4C, 80-90% of the time it winds up doing 2C then the 214C special. Any help?

Are you using a keyboard? I have the same problem and that's what I use. You have to put a slight pause between the 2 and the 4/6 in order to avoid that problem. This is a lot easier with attacks that take a long time to go off. If you're using a controller/joystick, you have to not roll the stick/your thumb from 2 to 4/6 and instead distinctly hit those directions.

I use a keyboard. I just tried this with Nero and got it fine every time. What you do is as soon as your 2C starts up, switch to the left arrow before the move finishes. This should be easy considering almost all 2Cs are slow.
