It's good, right?

I thought it was pretty okay, mediocre 7 of 10 material. The only exciting parts about it were the advertising storm and the out of order episodes. Remove that and it is par course.

I enjoyed the anime but never bothered to read the light novel translations, which designates me as being unable to contribute to this discussion.

I love Haruhi period.

7 out of 10 is not "mediocre", it's slightly above average.

Even Lucky Star isn't as good as Haruhi.

The early light novels are good. It gets pretty boring towards the later ones, but I think once the next one comes out, it'll pick up again. Introducing a major enemy always does that.

I long for the day when shit hits the fan and it becomes a free-for-all.
