It's not about liking or disliking, it's about the fact that they weren't already familiar with it, so a bunch of the dialogue was just shit like

You can have a little of that in between natural conversations between people with good chemistry, and they'll help each other out learning the game. But when you throw that in with the awkward interactions between Mori and the other two where they still haven't managed to gel their personalities and are talking over each other and shit it's just terrible.

Imagine if they were playing a chill game with no time pressure on it, where they could stop and explain how things work, and go at their own pace. Would have been infinitely better.

I love Calli. She is a hard working girl who is doing her best to make both songs and art as a way to entertain her viewers. She is fully aware and capable to make a joke of herself, as she knows it will give her audience a good laugh and deepen her connection.

I love Kiara. A wonderful active person who is surprisingly more talented than she herself, or some haters, moght believe. She wants nothing more than to spread joy and actively interact with her fans, while growing both as a person and entertainer.

I love Ina. Shes a sweet girl who wants to spread inspiration with her art and help her fans improve their own skills, all while asking you to focus on your well being and health above all else. Even if you watch her as a sleeping aid, she will gladly serenade you with her calm voice so you could rest and recover after a hard day.

I love Amelia. Her antics and joker like behaviour cause so many people have the biggest smile on their faces throughout her stream, but also come out of them with some self reflection after her short bursts of wisdom or her being able to invoke feelings anons didnt think they could feel.

I love Gura. A wonderful girl that you just cant help but want to protect and see her grow, so she could open up more. Especially after listening to the few songs she did, and her ability to capture and invoke pure joy and positivity out of the simplest and smallest things.

Based analysis. They could've poked fun at Mori's over enthusiasm or went more into depth about her love of dinosaur pasta. That's peak comedy material but they only spent a minute on that before moving back to the game.
It's easy to point the blame at Mori but in reality they all need to work on their group dynamic. Keeping conversation going, making running jokes, using anything weird that happens in the gameplay to jumpstart a convo, etc. Mori needs to learn how to calm herself down when she's feeling anxious so she feels more natural.
I think watching other non-vtuber streamers play games would help them out a lot. Funhaus has a great dynamic and know how to turn even garbage games into entertainment.

Not really. It was kinda rough. I'm hoping they work on this off-stream before the continuation next week. The shining light of the collab were the occasional moments where Gura opened up and her and Ame were talking and laughing together. Mori would then just come trample over that with her loud, awkward interruptions, like that one autistic friend who can't read the room when two people are having a moment. It's not entirely her fault because like, it is a 3 person collab and they should all be trying to interact, but she needs to regulate her energy levels with the other two, they shouldn't be conforming to hers.

Chill games don't press the shy ones to step out of their comfort zones and don't press the loud ones to create spaces for their mates to speak.
We saw all of these underlying problems during Mori's duos with Ina and Gura.
Mori is loud and feels pressed to fill dead airtime. She carries the collab but isn't nearly as interesting just awkwardly filling airtime as she could be cooperating with someone properly. She's afraid of dead air and overcompensates, which makes it difficult for her collaborator to contribute even though she has good intentions.
Gura is too quiet in collabs and struggles to find spaces to get a word in or roll with it when she has the floor. Amelia has a lot of the same problems and you can always hear an edge in her voice when she interjects for something technical--she's not comfortable butting in unless it's for a serious issue and doing so clearly makes her uncomfortable.

She doesn't feel comfortable interjecting when there's an opppurtunity and Mori isn't great at giving others a space to interject. Games like this force them all to work on these skills, because suddenly the shy ones have something (game related) to say without being put on the spot and are forced to take the floor when they need to communicate, and people like Mori are forced to listen and get more comfortable ceding the floor to another speaker. It's a good teambuilding exercise for building chemistry and future collaborations. Surgeon simulator with the quiet 3 was also great to help them all feel a little more comfortable taking the floor when they don't have someone like Kiara or Mori to fill dead air for them.

I was only vaguely interested in vtubers prior to Hololive English launching, but I decided to check them out cause of the shark singing Ride On Time video. So I watched all the debut videos. Mori just seemed kind of cringe and hard to watch because of how "in-character" she acts and how she casually drops "that's so kawaii!" shit into her conversation, but I guess that makes her seem authentic in a way? Shark is entertaining but seems to have a bit too much polish, which makes her seem artificial, somehow. I may have to give her another chance later though. Amelia I also wanted to like because I love her design the most but I don't really care about FPS games, and she's too shrieky and giggly.

Then I watched Kiara's debut video and I was like "oh okay, I can actually vibe with this." She's actually funny, has this really authentic kind of personality without being a cringefest like Mori, isn't overly shrieky (though the Minecraft streams have made me question that at times), has witty comebacks when people put her down in the stream chat which are funny. It's just little random things like when she waited for Mario to fall asleep and she was talking about how he probably has a lot on his mind because he says "Mama Mia" in his sleep. It's minor but that sort of stuff fills me with a special feeling. I watched her play Minecraft for hours last night and even though I don't care about that game at all, it was still funny and entertaining. I think I'm going to give the other 4 an honest chance later but for now Kiara is the only one that I both have a personal fondness for and can watch without cringing or being bored.
