i "like" the games. I think ZUN does a great job putting it together. and those beautiful danmaku patterns and all. i suck at playing the games so i don't really play

if you dig old side shooters or top shooter you have to love touhou. It is like the natural evolution of those games. Young newfags need not apply. gb2/playyour3dshit.

I exist in some sort of strange paradox where I like the gameplay, but could care less about the characters. I really wouldn't care if all the characters were replaced with emotionless and featureless boxes.

Translation patches, my friend. There are some for TH6-8 so far. Only ones i've played anyway other than Shoot the Bullet.

Touhou is fun, because it has that old school one-more-go mentality and you constantly know you've got to try harder. I can only beat a few of the games on one credit on Easy, and have come close on a few Normal runs. Yet, ONLY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS PLAY ON EASY MODE~

Well, I like the pleasant feeling you get when playing the game and listening to the music. On the other hand: I just played PCB again (cause that's the one I've played the least), fighting against Alice and listening to Doll Judgement. But I constantly saw that ugly Alice sprite and green-skin fairies which ruined the athmosphere)

+ for the slow paced bullet patterns. Unlike in other shmups they stay long enough on the screen to look at them.
+for characters and multiple endings
+for difficulties and extra stage

I like them most of all. I don't really know shit about the characters other that what's posted on /jp/

I enjoy bullet hell games that include a large cast of lolis with hats. I like weaving through mazes of pure rape that ferociously tear past you in the blink of an eye. I like trance inducing music that puts my mind in a different place altogether.
