The point is that not only is this thread off topic, it runs counter to board values and is a disruption of board harmony. There's a place for academic discussion, but /jp/ isn't it.

Academics also go to college and probably have all kinds of opportunities lined up for them. They will be propelled into mainstream society, where they conform to societal norms of what is expected of them. Therefore, they are normal in the sense that they represent a facet of normal society that is not necessarily the norm here on /jp/.

I assume most of us became ronery fags due to academic reason. My engineering class has like less than 10girls and I have to find solace in 2D girls. Look how I turn out now, even with a normal job now I still can't find a 3D girl that can rival my 2D waifu.

So, antisocial math majors and various engineering virgins are basically the same as loud college jocks because they both go to school to get an education, which, everyone knows, is for normalfags.

It is an earnest effort towards a discussion, making the motive behind it completely different than that of a troll thread.
