Not the OP but Spice and Wolf manages to do it well because the script was pretty witty.
The interactions were well done and the characters appealing.

I don't think that KnK is shit but it is pretty bland, and I hate the way they throw a chunk of exposition, it just feel lazy.

Nothing happened in higurashi, but it didn't have that dread atmosphere. You could just relax and enjoy the show. Kara no Kyoukai is difficult to watch. I'd keep watching if it was interesting in some way or another, but it's not.

I will never understand that either. You have the Tsukihime anime (an average adaptation of good source material) or the KnK anime (an average adaptation of weak source material).

Also, KnK has always been the inferior Tsukihime prototype. I remember an extremely old interview where Nasu states how he was embarassed by Kara no Kyoukai; he considered it an inferior work from his early days. But I guess his tune changed 4-5 years later when he found out that he could make money by publishing KnK. And of course he did it again with the recent movies.

Seriously, I don't see why I should continue watching something that's so boring for the first 20min. A good show is meant to be able to capture the audience right from the start. Or are you going to pull that hypocritical shit about shows being deep and and profound and that I'm shallow ? Like how I think Hidamari Sketch, Aria and all being boring because I lack the intellectual capacity to appreciate good shows? Black Lagoon, for example, is dark in terms of style but it manages to get things going in 20mins... and it's a pretty deep show.
