Mods tried to force it off of /v/ and hoped the popularity would wane if tourists had to go to /jp/ instead of their home board, but that obviously didn't happen and now we're at critical levels of cancer with EN bringing more people than ever from all corners of the internet. I honestly don't know if a board would fix it for the people who actually like /jp/ and its board culture, the board would probably end up being majority /v/ and just as terrible as the thread during Amelia's streams today.
