To be fair, I don't think Aya's that bad and when you think about it she has reason enough to have got into the games she's in.

I mean, PoFV was her introduction. She's a Tengu reporter, her main power revolves around wind control and additionally she's perhaps the fastest person around.

StB wasn't originally about her and was more something ZUN wanted to add into his games, but ended up having to do seperately because he didn't want to dump it, Aya was perfect for the role because she's a reporter. I don't care too much that she didn't get killed by the overpowered characters because she wasn't fighting them, just dodging with her stupid speed and mobility.

MoF is pretty much the game revolving around where she lived, it fit perfectly that she was there and wasn't really a hugely important part of it. There is mention about her 'letting' the main characters win, but frankly, they all say that. Aya never fights seriously, but then again danmaku isn't often too serious and Reimu rapes everyone when she wants to.

Fightan' games always have as many characters as possible. She missed IaMP, so now they are adding her to the latest. IaMP had a pretty awesome selection, new games seems like it's just IaMP 2, so I'd be surprised if the last cast + more weren't in it.

That said, Aya is a slut and I don't like her Haruhi-like personality.

Perfect Memento in Strict Sense also gives personalities from the perspective of Akyu.
